I've got a small collection/accumulation of handguns and a Winchester model of 1897 riot 12ga. I've got a couple of S&W 44 mags, a couple of 2nd generation Colt single actions in 44 spl and 357mag. A 10 shot K-22. Semi autos I have double action only Sig 40 and Beretta DAO 40. A glock 10mm and 40. I carry a S&W airlight 357 daily.
Used to reload a lot. Mostly 44mag since the factory stuff is not pleasant to shoot. Most of the local ranges around here won't allow you to shoot unless you buy their ammo so I don't shoot much anymore or reload. The ranges that do let you shoot your own are over an hour away.
Here is an archived thread that you'll enjoy with lots of eye candy. Nice score on the 45. Since I got a Glock I don't care for anything but double action only. I like every pull to be the same and just prefer that DAO feel.

Thanked: 1371Wow. That's a great deal on the Springfield.
I have a few handguns. I have a S&W K-frame .22, a Sig-Sauer P238 .380, a Ruger P95 DC 9mm, a Springfield XD .40, a Springfield custom 1911 .45, and a Ruger Blackhawk .357.
I reload, and cast my own bullets for all of the pistols that I shoot, except for the 22.
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

I used to cast bullets for my 44s. I used Elmer Keith's designed Lyman 429421 mould. Great bullet. I actually used to cast on the kitchen table. I'd cast for hours maybe once a month. Talking forty years ago. I shot so much with hot loads in the 44 that I have permanent damage in my right elbow. If I shoot fifty rounds of anything nowadays I have pain in it. Too much of a good thing.

Reloading? Yes sir. I have nearly as much money in reloading gear as I do guns...well, almost. I enjoy it, but, as I began to shoot rifle matches and needed to load about 3 to 4k rounds a year of 223 for my service rifle. I needed speed in reloading. I got a used Dillon 550 on ebay and then went about getting all the upgrades for it. I love it and still use my old green RCBS press for 308 Palma loads, and for 3006. I have some pistol dies and want to load some 45ACP and 45 Colt, but, just have not got around it. I have been shooting so much rifle lately that I have been only shooting pistol for work. The reloading is enjoyable, and it keeps me out of the house.

Thanked: 31NICE! i use the old green RCBS loader....dont shoot comp but we hunt alot and handloading def gives more consistant results with all the factors that go into ammo mfg. do you weigh each powder charge when you are loading that many rounds at a time?

I've still got an old RCBS 'rock chucker' and belding & mull powder measure. Best measure on the market AFAIC. Simple and effective.
