I really enjoy ligero, incredibly complex and flavourful...

I learned to love the ligero back when I was smoking cigs. They had the "ump" I craved.

When I gave up on the smokes, I began to see em as powerhouses too - so I only smoked them after having had smoked a cigar previous.

For some reason lately, I am really enjoying them. To be smoked/enjoyed slowly for sure - but man some are real yummy. That Kristoff for example - yum. Another one that I have come to love is 601 la bomba. Yum lol!!

    Just don't smoke quickly .

Had an Undercrown a couple of years ago...wasn't a great experience, it literally, binder and wrapper both, burst halfway through.

    Perhaps I'll try again...

    What was your opinion?

I was with you yardie - didn't much care for them either right off. But I am telling you, these things age well!! Very well .

    The 5" is my favorite.

It means to me at least, that now and again, complexity can be excused if your loving on the taste - come to think of it... I think that's how I ended up dating a lover of mine for so long lol! Sure she was one dimensional, but it was a lovely dimension for a year or two .

I was given a 'bundled' cigar by my Monger to try out, it was a 'Batey'.

Can't find a whole helluva lot of information on this particular brand...however from what I could glean from the interwebz it appears to be a Canadian produced stick.

At ~$5.00 a stick, one can't really expect too much, right...? That being said it by no means a horrible stick either...I dare say it's much better than a 'Quorum' and pretty much on par with a 'Dominica'.

Would I take this over a Monte #2 or a DR RyJ Piramide...? @#$% no.

    I smoked one a year ago a Batey Casa 6" x 40
I thought it needed to be aged a while more.
Seemed like it had maybe a chance of being more than it was.

Agreed on the aging, could possibly smooth and mellow out the flavour profile. Perhaps I'll try that, get 5 of 'em and toss in my humi to marinate for...well...at least a very long time!!

Just opened the foil wrapper on a box of 5 year old R&J Cazadores and am looking forward to a treat in a couple of hours. : )
