    Been AFK for a bit...

Saturday on the way to do some chores, a new (to me) Alec Bradley offering in a Toro, 'The Lineage':

    Great stick indeed!

After the chores were done, I tried a stick from Cuba, great price point as well, Vegueros:

For a cheap Cuban, not bad at all. I'd guess that aging in the humi would be a definite benefit.

For the commute this morning...a tried and true La Reloba from My Father (apologies for using a potato that won't focus. At all.):

Just had to pick up some cheap cigars from the liquor store (Cuba Libre??). I've been switching to e-cigarettes from cigars and went swimming in the ocean in Fort Lauderdale yesterday. Guess what I left in my pocket...

My Cigar Monger gave me another freebie to try, a Namakubi with an Ecuador wrapper:

    In a word, 'complex'.

Definitely a stronger cigar, but not harsh...not quite harsh.

I would think a good length of aging in one's humi would definitely mellow it out a bit, however, could run the risk of the ruining the contrast between the subtle sweetness and bold strength.

For the record, I wouldn't call this one out for a casual smoke, not at all. This should be reserved for after a rare 1" thick rib eye replete with a fine Cab Sav...enjoyed in hand with a very fine single malt, say...Glenrothes...or Laphroaig.

    Just my $0.02 is all

Just finished a Cuban Diplomaticos No 2 here on a cooler day than we have had in a couple of months.

    +1.

That said with respect to the stick losing its complexity if it rested a bit... Wouldn't you think it would just become more balanced but keep its complexity? Just asking - maybe hoping. Bad cigars lose thier complexity - good ones balance I think lol. Maybe we are saying the same thing?

Anyway... Had my mainstay today .

Got to tell you, I forgot something in the office so I went back after lighting it. Once inside the office I got held up - Arg. By the time I got back to the car I had to relight. I wasn't hoping for too much but seriously, the thing didn't miss a beat!

    Yay

Totally possible as well, I was simply pontificating on a possibility. One would think quality will stand the test of time...properly stored of course!

If you catch a quality stick shortly after it's fizzle, a quick blow through and relight should have zero negative impact...DPG consistently puts out great sticks!

Two words for you, 'La Reloba'.

    Cheers!

While I haven't had a whole helluva lot of PDRs, the one's I've had have never failed to provide an enjoyable smoke.

I have come to love this cigar. So much so, I rummaged through a couple humis to find this one!

Going to take a drive now. Hope it treats me right.
