Just as we recommend blade sampler packs for beginning DE shavers, I would recommend 2 oz packages of natural uncased tobaccos (bulk) for beginning pipe smokers. Smoking Pipes .Com is a good source for ordering tobacco, also Pipes & Cigars dot com. Tobacco Reviews dot com will give you some info on what experienced pipe smokers think of various blends.
Finally, IME if quitting cigarettes is a goal a tobacco with plenty of nicotine is preferable. Lake District (UK) tobaccos such as Gawith & Hoggarth Bob's Chocolate Flake, Rum Flake, Coniston Cut Plug are examples. Old Joe Kranz is another. :gl:
