Nice pipe, Alex
What is the 'white elephant' ?
My friend has a meerschaum pipe with an elephant stamped into stem. No other marks. He believes it is Countryman Tanganyika pipe (at least it looks the same) but cannot be sure.
My pipe has the same stamp, but after polishing the stem, elephant became black.:)
My pipe also is marked "Genuine Block Meerschaum 133".
White Elephant is logo of Tanganyika Meerschaum Corporation from the United Republic of Tanzania.
White Elephant:)
Same stamp than in my friends pipe. Thanks

Crichton, The acorn is elegant! Beautiful work. You are a true artisan.
Thomas, The Vauen and Jirsa are perfect picks for Alex (Manah). From his posts, these type pipes look to match his taste and preference. He should be very pleased. I/we look forward to pictures of you two together in Isreal!
Best, Jimbo

Nice catch, have fun and post some pictures/articles.
OH Heck Yeah, Really lookin forward to it Tom, may need to sell off a few razors to fuel this new fire, LMAO !
Although I really shouldn't be laughing, looks like this could end up being an expensive addiction if you let it get the best of you. I'm gonna try to control this one a little better though. Thanks Tom.
Gentlemen,
My humble recommendation:
Nice, old and cheap device.
Looks interesting, Alex.
Have you ever tried one of these?
Thanks for sharing!
Yes of course.
How can I recommend, if I didn't use it?
I've bought it, used and decided to recommend to all.

I found a really useful site today while looking for some info on one of the pipes I've got coming, All the description said was that it had a Logo of a pipe on it. Well I found quite a few on this site, so when the pipe gets here I'm fairly positive I'll be able to match it up. Y'all probably already know this site, but figured it would be helpful. This getting into pipes is gonna be great, can't wait till they get here and can post my POTD and tobacco ! Well here's the link, check it out its really a cool site.
Pipes: Logos & Estampilles - Logos & Markings
blugill, thats a great site for info on pipes of all kinds. Another to keep an eye on is pipedia.org - they also have tons of information on various makers. I also own a copy of the "Who Made That Pipe?" book that is now out of print. Even more hard-to-find info in there. If you ever have an issue IDing a pipe and can't find it online let me know and I'd be happy to check that book for you. Usually between those 3 sources I can find what info I am looking for.
Thanks so much Eric, I should have my pipes by this weekend and if I can't ID that one, I may need to give you a shout, Those really are some Beautiful pipes you've been posting Eric, I'm so ready to get mine and smoke with it, hell this is worse than waiting on a straight razor to arrive !!!

Thomas,
I've never seen such pipe like yours! Must be some special model to celebrate something? Deutsche Mark?
Now as spring is finally here it is time to put some of my pipes into rotation. I recently took from a storage few of my elder pipes i haven't been smoking for some years now. I once bought them from flea markets & estate auctions. Cleaned, smoked few years, cleaned them again and put them on rest, to wait for a day that came this spring. Of course i will clean some of my recent pipes too and put them to rest.
After hard week at work it is time to start my Friday with one of these elder estate pipes.
