Well guys I took a dive today and ordered this Savinelli Carmaella after being outbid on this Jirsa, Judd's Very Nice UNSMOKED Jirsa Pipe with Pipe Sock | eBay with a max bid of $90.00, I placed my max bid last night around midnight while I was still the high bidder at around $14.50 I figured I'd win for sure with a $90 dollar max bid, I was outbid three hours before the auction ended, and wasn't going any higher cause you can buy a new Jirsa for a little less than $100.00 online. Anyway I ordered this pipe, a chrome fold out stand, Balsa Filters, and two more tins of tobacco for two bucks less than the Jirsa sold for. I'm Happy !
Oh and BTW I sold a Straight Razor last night just to bid high on the Jirsa, oh well I'm
selling one addiction now for another, go figure

Eric,
After seen all these excellent pipes of yours i've noticed that they all have real nice finish. Do you use carnauba wax and how do you get them so shiny?
Yes, Carnuba wax is what I use. When I buy estate pipes I clean them vigorously and buff them with Brown Tripoli, Red Rouge, White Diamond and then Carnuba Wax. I have a set of flannel buffer wheels that I use on a motor, which makes it easier to apply the compounds as well as get a real nice shine. After each smoke I wipe them down with a soft cloth before returning them to my racks. I'm kind of anal about keeping my pipes clean...lol....
weather finally broke enough for me to put my hillybilly bone to work tilling the garden.
wish i could, but i only have tonight and tommorrow night off, so the travel would get me in trouble
Worked all day doing some upgrades in the shop. Picked up my new air compressor yesterday and should have it totally running by tuesday. That means sandblasts for the website!

Picked up a Savenille 804ex Hercules Canadian and smoked a bowl of 5100, yuuuummmmmy!
I spent a night at dllandry's after the Toronto meet, and he let me pick through some pipes he had. So here I am, back at home in my trusty recliner with my new Wellington. My shop's match to Dunhill's Early Morning.

Figured I'd throw my hat in the ring as well. University Flake in a Comoy's Highgate 483. If anyone knows more about this pipe that would be great. I inherited eight of them from my grandfather. He was a bit of a Comoy's collector - with a GBD thrown in for good measure. I'll post more as I fill them with more delicious tobacco.
PS - Sorry for the cell phone pic. :(
The Highgate was a standard Comoy's line. Not sure on the exact dating without seeing the pipe in person. The 483 stands for: Large, Straight Shank, Saddle Stem, Globe Shape. Nice pipe!
Thanks for the info! I've poked around some, and discovered that the Highgate - along with the rest of my pipes are nothing spectacular, but the shape info is awesome! I'll post more when I can to fish for more info. Thanks again. Cheers!

For those of you who have been following things at my website, the sandblaster is finally set up! I just finished my first commission pipe - a blasted pot with cocobolo stem extension. She'll be headed to her new home in New Jersey tomorrow. I should finally have 5 or 6 blasted pipes on the website within the next week.

Thanks for the info Eric. Beautiful pipes. I totally understand about not wanting to ruffle feathers in a friendly place.
Have a good evening gentlemen.
EDIT: Sheesh! I need a new camera desperately!
Comoy's 309= XL (or "extraordinare" as Comoy's liked to say) straight shank liverpool.
I really like the whole canadian/lumberman/liverpool family! Great looking pipe!
