Agreed. Terrible casualty rate from that time. But a very manly mans time indeed.

Smoked some Capstan from my Norup at the harbour of Nagu. You know one of those small archipelago villages that get overcrowded for tourists, sailboat, yachts, party people and all during the summer and when the winter starts then population drops down to 20% It's the same in my home island.
(Now i know that the boys of the British Navy use term 'WAFI' when talking about sailboat people and i'm not gonna tell you what it means. There's something you have to find out yourself )

Howevers, we came here as the old friend of ours works as the chef in one of those restaurants so it's nice to take a visit at least once a year. Also the only bakeries that make black bread are situated here. It's a kind of cuisine that's almost unknown outside SW coastal parts.
And the antique shops. My wife been a bit horny for antiques lately. I know, i'm sorry too.
But this time i thought what the heck, i might as well try to get me some and asked the owner if she had any Scandinavian made pipes. All prices looked moderate if not even cheap. Unfortunately she said no. She had had several but recently she had sold them all to a tourist from Canada or USA. Damn you
Got my revenge anyways when i saw these. Lately i haven't been buing almost anything unless i really, truly need it. Just trying to be happy with what i got and not what i could get. I do not collect anything. But this time i thought that maybe i could make an exception (shame on me) because these were just total of € 28.

Helje 7-day safety razor set. I remember seeing things like this when i was kid but i've never seen this before: Kampf Bros travel razor with 2 blades. Looks unused. As i do not really need them, i might as well sell them later but have to think about it for some time. There were also several straight razors between 5-15 €, checked few and they were mostly Heljestrands, few Ern's. Some nice scales too but i decided not to buy. I'm all happy with the 7 straights i already have. Might as well get along with 1 or 2 only (if i only could decide which ones to sell).

Is that at the Liberty Memorial? I have heard the museum is much nicer after the recent renovations. I am making it a priority to visit the museum next time I go to K.C.

Another Cherry Cavendish accompanied by fraoch heather ale. It's almost 10pm here in scotland and it's still bright and warm. Oh and so far not a single relight. All in all a good eve.

    Oh and dinner....
