Friday evening pipe. Damn the fall is already here. It's only about 2100 and already dark outside. Capstan from Stanwell with some Franziskaner weißbier.

You don't hear the word 'beer' here so often, bier or pivo every now ad then.
Howevers, here's those that are most common:

    olut (fin)
    öl (swe)
    õlu (est)

    Oh yes, Thomas.

That was very interesting era. I guess every schoolkid here has studied a lot of the battle of Dennewitz and Leipzig, as well as the whole Napoleanic wars. They had such a strong influence for the destiny of my country too.
Interestingly, in those specific battles there was a Finnish regiment (although we were Swedes back then) fighting at the Alllied side, led by Colonel Sandels. Although pretty soon he and his troops got busy for there was another war to start, against Norway this time.
Seems that Sweden was strong military power only as long as Finland was an integral part of it (sorry, Swedes ).

Howevers, nowadays Sandels is known as a local beer brand. At the back of the bottle there are funny stories about the man and his love for women, food and beer, mostly (guess he had a clue about the finer things in life too).

I love History reenactment, that's so cool ! I dabbled in it myself a little way back when. French and Indian war (North America 1700's) and a little bit of Fur trade (1800's North America) Lots a fun for the most part.
