And as inspired by Thomas, i recently read that in the city there was an art exhibition about paintings based on all stories and eyewitness of all wars fought by the Empire of Sweden. All the way from say bc 1200, via Thirty Years War 1618–1648 to Finnish War 1808-09. Eg all the years we were an integral part of Sweden, eastern half of the nation.
I never did visit the exhibition, but found their websites. There were about hundreds of interesting paintings. Some were modern, some were made about the same time they were wittnessed.
Here's few that cought my eye. Not because they would show power and glory (if such things ever even existed) but rather maybe more realistic, brutal or sad. Maybe something how the ordinary people or line soldiers could have seen it all.

Being an Illustration Major,I like those a lot.

Tonight's bowl was "Shortcut to Mushrooms" in a mini bent basket briar while I grilled chicken and burgers watching the kids ride their bikes in the driveway.

A fine start to the day indeed. Irish Flake is one heck of an early morning blend especially with a strong dark roast coffee.

My pipe of the day was a Whitehall Grand National

Of course you're reading Michael Myers on Friday the 13th, and just weeks away from Halloween.

There's a widely held belief that is fairly well supported in history that suggests most writers are lunatics. Coincidentally, I have the double whammy. I'm not only a writer, I'm a veteran as well. Throw in a handlebar mustache and let's just say I don't get harassed much at work.

Ahhhh but do you have a hockey mask and large blade instrument(besides a straight razor although that could count).

Pipe by the riverside. Capstan from Punto Oro.

There was 'most exciting' 'sport event' ever going on in the city. Rubber duck race. Charity event, actually.
Part of the 784th anniversary of the city. The city privileges were given at 1229 although there's been colonazation and some sort of fortress much longer here.

Actually some folks were playing unknown amount of money for their ducks. But as the wind direction went here and there so finally there was no winner at all and fire dept had to dig up all the rubber ducks from the river. All the money went for charity.
