    Nosewarmer,et al,

    I HATE opossums! Being a proud Virginian, I particularly hate it that they are called Virginia opossums. They're everywhere. On the other hand....Virginia tobacco is yummy.

    Agreed, opossums are hideous rat-like creatures that totally give me the willies. I had a buddy when I was a kid that kept a few as pets (God only knows why.) He routinely remarked how tamed they were, etc. but it seems like every time he opened the cage they hissed, showed their yellow teeth and attempted to bite the closest piece of human flesh. As a side note, they're horrible eating as well.
