You sir have given me an excellent idea. When the yotes come for the opossum get them too. They've gotten so gutsy in our area they've been known to take caves over a year old and often have been seen in peoples yard.
No that pistol isn't the only thing under my kilt, but I can tell you both of them work just fine

Default Dr. Grabow, Italian Basket & MM Pony Express

Was a busy day for me today... Smoked three diffrent pipes with three diffrent blends:

    Dr. Grabow w/Cpt. Black White

    Italian Basket Pipe w/Lane 1Q &

MM Pony Express w/PS Whiskey... The tobacco needs something but the pipe smokes cool and dry...

I've lost a few barn cats the last few weeks... Not sure if that's good or bad... There is about 12 coyotes that run the section behind our house...

After reading a little bit more about opossums i have to say that i'm happy we don't have them. No coyotes either.
However, we have these dudes coming near human settlements too often, and people are quite scared because they every now and then catch dogs, horses, sheep and cows from yards. In some areas people are afraid to send their kids to school because of these, although last known attack against human was about 120 years ago. I've seen few times these creatures while walking with my dog, and i, or should i say we didn't like what we saw.
Occasionally we have these fellows too, but luckily not too often. I've never seen and hope i never will. Last time was few months ago when such creature was reported to visit near the place i live. Few years ago such dude killed 2 coast guard patrolmen even though they had their rifles. Didn't much help.

Tonight's smoke features a 8733 (Large Apple) Kaywoodie. Loaded with a homemade concotion containing a couple ounces of rubbed out cigar butts, An ounce or so of Prince Albert, Old Gowrie, and a bit of Latakia and Perique thrown in for good measure. A remarkably delicious and full bodied smoke. Very similar to C&D Billy Budd with a bit less Latakia.

    Sounds delicious!

I always save my clipped cigar ends in a sandwich baggie. When the mood strikes, I rub them out and add to my mixture of toasted cavendish with latakia and balkan. Waste not, want not! It tastes good, too! It's neat to hear/read that someone shares this weird little bit of frugality in blending.

I've only recently started smoking a substantial quantity of cigars. Not that I smoke super spendy cigars but hey I figure for what I pay for them it doesn't make sense to just throw the butts away. I've started saving them in a jar and when I get a good 12 or 15 accumulated, I rub them out and stuff them in a pipe. My first attempt was a single butt smoked by itself. It yielded 3 good size bowls so I decided to start saving them up figuring that 40 butts or so should render about half a pound of good pipe tobacco. The rest I just kind of looked around and figured out what pipe tobacco I had on hand that I could add to the mix. Turned out very nice indeed. Like you say though the best part is the idea that I'm not wasting anything.
