Just an FYI: Rather than posting two separate posts like you have here at 4.41am and 4.42am, you can click the Edit Post button and add your second point to your first.

It just makes reading the whole thread easier as all your thoughts are in one place rather than spread across two or three consecutive posts.

By all means respond to other members points or continue conversation in separate posts, but if you make a post and the decide you want to add more information after you've clicked submit, hit the edit post button and combine everything into one post rather than creating two separate posts.

I'm with Bazz here. Rabbits and Dingoes once upon a time. No longer now. I'm also a city-slicker these days and hate every second of it. Alas, that's lifes whims.

I used to trap until about 4 years or so ago, I still have all of my equipment, if fur prices ever get decent again (last I checked muskrat was up a good deal from when I was in the game) I might have to start layin steel again

    Default nice

It would be nice if fur prices go back up so we can make a little profit after buying all the dyes and lures and other things, i d like to fund a way to get american fur to become popular again instead of all this anti fur campagnes. Any one got any ideas on how to get our message out.

Somehow make fur fashionable to teenage girls and you are set.

if only could make every teen girl in america want a fur coat, it would be a double whammey for me 1 the fur market would soar which would drive prices up and 2 if all teengers wanted fur and i was someone that has access to fur i would be well loved by the teenage honeys< What they wouldent do for some free fur < Wink wink.

I used to trap rabbits back home in South Australia in the early 70's and was taught how to trap dingoes in the Snowy Mountains in New South Wales about the same time. Boy did the decoy stink !! Trapping as one of my countrymen said earlier is now illegal over here, is still done now and again, to many ratbag treehuggers. I don't know if rabbit fur is worth much over here, my late young brother used to get $120 to $150 for fox skins when we were on holidays in Snowys back in the early 70s Rabies went through Europe that year I think. Have a 10x beaver stetson the one in my avatar a ripper !!

    Cheers
Keep yo hoss well shod an yo powdah dry !

Thats right!! When people ask me "what do you do with the beaver" i tell them that nothing goes to waste. The pelts (fur) go mostly to the hatter market, and all your high end hats are made from beaver and the top hats that Abe Lincoln wore were made from beaver, and they reply I didn't know that!! The beaver meat is fed to many sleddog teams, the skulls are prepared and sold for education, the castor gland in the beaver is sold to Packistan (sp) and they use it as a holding agent in perfume.I have a wallet made from beaver tail. Also coats, hats, earmuffs. I also have a 4x Stetson !!
