    I'm a big fan of Phish. I've been seeing them in concert since college when they were just graduating from bar band to legitimacy. I've seen over 100 shows.

    I am finally giving an honest listen to Death Magnetic. I have been a huge Metallica fan since I was maybe 12. I was always partial to Old Metallica; The Black Album was good, but it showed Metallica going in a very different direction. I didn't care for Load; Reload was good, but not really "Metallica." I cannot stand St Anger, and I really thought Metallica was done.

    I really think Metallia peaked during the Binge & Purge era, but there has been some stuff I've liked since then. Garage Inc is one of my go-to albums when I'm driving, and I really enjoyed S&M. I also saw Metallica live on the Summer Sanitarium tour in 2000.

    I was randomly reading about the band recently (I don't remember how I got started on that), and noted that Death Magnetic is supposed to be something of a stylistic throwback. It's definitely better than St Anger, but so is... well, I won't go there. I'm enjoying DM so far.
