Tonight I'm feeling the need for a little bit of strange in my life, along with a whole lot of cool. So it's time for Uncle Tom.

Listening to the "O brother where art thou" soundtrack while having a cigar out in the garage unwinding from a long daybat work.

I don't like it but this is what is on right now.:rofl2:
The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale of New York - YouTube
Best. Christmas. Song. Ever. :tu
When I was a teen one of my first jobs was working retail in a shopping mall, and the nonstop elevator versions of Christmas songs absolutely killed the genre for me. A 1/4 century later, this is still one of the only songs of that particular season I can stand. :)
Good version - back in the days before Shane lost his teeth and the world lost Kristy M.

Molten Light
I got the idea of the song listening to Kristy. I guess that is the point of the song but if i have to look up the lyrics to understand it I don't like it!
One exception is if it is a foreign language to me. :D
Even I can sing better than Shane and that is not saying much.

Its Saturday morning at work, put the I pod on shuffle,
Song one - all you need is love, the Beatles.
Song two - beautiful day, U2.
What a lovely way to start a Saturday, and it does look like it is going to be a beautiful day as well.
They're rather negative, and I don't know what they have against Jesus, but I do like them:

Play some Skynrd!!!
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Tuesday's Gone - YouTube
Two things you don't often see together, a bunch of rednecks and an orchestra, it seems to have worked out well though :)
Got to listening to these guys through a FB post... Pentatronix I guess their name is. Pretty talented group.
The Wizard of Ahhhs by Todrick Hall - YouTube
I love this song, the combination of Rockabilly, Fiddle and Steel Guitar is perfect (in my Opinion).

One of many excellent australian Rockabilly Bands :)
This video is from the DVD Vicious Cycle/it was to celebrate 30 years as a group. I have it here at home! Great Vid!
6 years ago I took the (then wife) and kids to see Skynrd play in Spokane WA. Hughie Thomasson had passed away and there wasn't a orchestra.
They played for an hour and 45 minutes without a break! We were in row 4 just off left center. My kids knew the words to every song! To say that we all had a great time would be an understatement!
Since I saw them play; Billy Powell/keyboardist and Ean Evens/bass player have passed and been replaced.
Skynryd continues to tour and record! I guess old Rockers Never Die! They just go somewhere else to play!
Do you know this mob ?
Sounds a bit like Wanda eh ? :)

My daughter just walked in and said are you listening again to weirdly dressed Scandinavians? My reply was No. That is so last week!:rofl2:
Monty Python is not Scandinavian. More like this.

The Fugees -- The Score
Twenty-six years after I first heard Joshua Tree during a high school volleyball practice, the songs from that album still send shivers down my spine.
