Not that I regret it, but it dispels the myth that what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. LOL

I think that Vassar Clements, Doc Watson and especially Earl Scruggs would be very proud to see and listen to these three very talented young men perform!

I'm always in envy of anyone who can play an instrument and especially anyone who can play it well!! I can strum chords on a guitar but that's about it!
I was raised on a combination of country, bluegrass and what my mother called 'Boogie Woogie'!
My dad was fortunate to have been able to see the legendary Hank Williams play a show with Roy Acuff! He said it was supposed to have been a 'dance' but it ended up more like being in a sardine can!
On the subject of ringing ears... the first 'real' concert I ever went to was ZZ Top's Eliminator Tour in about 83 or 84. My 13-year-old ears were pretty much useless for a couple of days after, but what a great show, and what a great introduction to the world of live music!
This is from around the same era, but since it's for a TV show, it's a bit toned down.

My favorite "concert" so far was last summer. My 8 year old playing at an open mic night.

Can't post a link now as YouTube is blocked at work, but I just heard that Paco de Lucia has died. I think my evening will be spent with "Mediterranean Sunset", the album he did with John McLaughlin and Al Di Meola. Wonderful stuff.
I think the album you mean is Friday Night in San Francisco:

You're probably right - I pulled that from memory. Maybe Mediterranean Sunset is one of the songs? Either way, anyone who loves guitar should check those guys out as they are incredible together
Yup, it was the song title I was thinking of:

This is from my senior year in high school! 1971!!
Heard this song on the radio today, took me back to the day's when I was a radio announcer on a great rock station in the 80's, man those were fun times, and this was one of the anthems of that time, from what I'm able to remember of them...Van Halen, "Unchained"....

Austin City Limits introduced me to Asleep at the Wheel well over 30 years ago and I finally got to see them play here in an outdoor area! What a Great Show!

I saw a Bob Marley documentary on tv last week. I hadn't listened to him in years but have been listening to the first Bob Marley & The Wailers album since then.
For me it was similar to what happens with Hendrix, Coltrane, RATM, Primus, Sublime, Fela Kuti, The Clash, Mark Lanegan, The Coup and many others - don't listen to their stuff for years and then boom! out of nowhere it's all back again.
Right now it's Foo Fighters, just had Kaizer's Orchestra and I think Son of Dave is next in the playlist.

Ah the memories driving through the central Florida woods and mangroves in my brother's 69 Mach I Mustang. He had absolutely no respect for that fine automobile and was convinced it was actually and F-250 4x4 in disguise. I think he put three clutches in it in two years time. BTO was a staple on our rides up into the Ocala national forest to hunt hogs.
Sorry guys! I tried to post the link to a video and it wouldn't work! Hopefully this link to the audio will!
