I enjoy the new and usual....found this the other day....it's new and unusual.....BABY METAL.
Other than kittens and puppies, is there anything cuter than little Japanese girls? I wouldn't watch this when I'm shaving though...I like to shave to "Largo Al Factotum" (from the Barber of Seville)...FIGARO! FIGARO! FFFFIIIIGGGGAAARRROOOO! Apropos, no?

Feeling calm today, not really, more like calm like a bomb!

I think you'll like this...I may have the slightest little crush on the bass player Ritsuko...

That was great! Thanks for sharing that video...Asian girls rock! Here's the last video I'll post on the subject...another delightful girlie group I stumbled on some time ago called "Girls Generation"...a Korean group, I believe...everyone of them is cute as a button! I don't really need to know exactly what they're singing about, those smiles, winks and feminine gyrations are an international language that speak to all we red-blooded males. Makes me wish for younger days....enjoy!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXZxc8GSXnI
On a different "note".....I think all straight razor shavers should be familiar with "Largo al factotum" from The Barber of Seville. Here is a excellent performance for your viewing and listening pleasure. Enjoy!

Make Way For the Handyman
(Largo al factotum)
Make way for the handyman of the city.
Hurrying to his shop now that it is already dawn.
Ah, what a fine life, what a fine pleasure
For a barber of quality! Of quality!
Ah, well done Figaro!
Well done, very good!
Very fortunate indeed!
Ready to do everything,
Night and day
He is always on the move
A more plentiful fate for a barber,
A more noble life, no, it cannot be had.
Razors and combs
Lancets and scissors,
At my command
Everything is here.
There are the tools,
Then, of the trade
With the ladies... with the gentlemen...
Everyone asks for me, everyone wants me,
Ladies, children, elders, young girls;
Here is the wig... The beard is ready...
Here is the blood...
The ticket is ready...
Here is the wig, the beard is ready,
The ticket is ready, hey!
Figaro! Figaro! Figaro!, etc.
Alas, what a fury!
Alas, what a crowd!
One at a time, please!
Hey, Figaro! I am here.
Figaro here, Figaro there,
Figaro up, Figaro down,
Quicker and quicker I am like lightning:
I am the handyman of the city.
Ah, well done Figaro! Well done, very good;
You will never lack for luck!

Good old Ringo ...

Some classic Johnny Cash is playing while I wait my turn in the barber's chair. Excellent old fashioned barber shop and experience.
Hot towel shave (by someone else for a change) and getting my ears lowered today.

This song has been a favorite of mine since the first time I heard it as a kid. Very poetic, a great story and a great song rolled into one.

I'll save my Led Zeppelin and Rolling Stones selections for next time. For some reason I've never been a huge Beatles fan.
A song I've had in my head all day long:

Springsteen is pretty much one of my absolute favorites....saw him in Toronto a couple of times, awesome show! Last time, pretty much front row on the left side of the stage...he did one of his slides down the stage towards I guess his right hand side, I was about two deep in the crowd, and managed to get my hand up for a high 5...awesome...sometimes it pays being 6'4" with long arms!
Thanks Cangooner...wife just yelled at me to turn it down...she's watching Coronation Street you know!!!
I (finally!) got to see him when he came through Ottawa about a year and a half ago. What an incredible show. I have seen many, many live acts over the years, but few have come even close to the connection he has with the crowd, and I hope to be able to see him again one day.
32t, Marvelous!!. If Victor Borge had had four daughters they could have been these beauties.
For all the Kanooks and hippies in the house. I hadn't heard the Harvest album for ages so I pulled it out this evening. Neil Young is really a youngblood in this video. Great Song!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_LZ8LKM_vs
If you see any clips of Neil at this stage and he looks a bit subdued, it's because he had a horrible back injury that meant a couple of things:
1) he couldn't move much (compare this to when he's playing with Crazy Horse and you may notice a difference in his demeanor :) )
2) he couldn't play electrics for a while. So we ended up getting an album like Harvest and performances like this and his Live at Massey Hall album.
So good things can come even from a slipped disc.
It's that time of the year.

A bit of mellow Neil to ease into the long weekend.

Here's another Neil Young tune I haven't heard in a while. Hey look, Neil's got pork chops growing off his face :)
