You may or may not recognize that one but this one should ring some bells

The last night for me at the Festival for me was Sat, and we had these guys,,, It is so nice to watch real pros at work

After a great morning shave, was off to the gym, then doing my usual walk around the track, and enjoyed the advanced women's aerobic class....Lord Thunderin' Jesus, Yoga pants and spandex...and doing there warm down to this old classic....California Dreamin' - The Mama's and The Papa's:

Lately it's been some vintage jazz, such as Miles Davis & Louis Armstrong. And then of course there's my steady rotation of Circus Maximus: Nine, Subsignal: Paraiso, and a little Gregory Porter. All are some of my favorites.
If technology ever evolves so that a talent can simply be downloaded from one person and uploaded to another (through a stick drive or something) I'd like to play guitar like this guy. Good Lord what a beast! What is that thing he does with the neck of the guitar at 3:18?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S33tWZqXhnk
Man's got talent.
The neck bend has been around a while. :)
While I simply 'strum some cords' I would presume that there is enough 'flex' in the neck to allow the strings to be either slightly loosened or tightened to change the pitch for the desired effect. Similar to using pushing the strings or using what some of the guitars have as a handle to so something similar?
What I simultaneously love and hate about guys like him, Stevie Ray, Dicky Betts, Duane Allman, Pedro Javier Gonzalez, etc. is that they do just jaw dropping stuff and look like they aren't even trying. In my dreams I'm about 19 or 20 years old and go to a party with many young lovlies in attendance. Someone comes up and asks me,
"So Mike, you play guitar?"
"Not really but I do know a couple chords" I say with perfectly executed modesty
The guy hands me a guitar and I play Classical Gas just like Tommy Emmanuel. Needless to say, it's going to be a good evening for me.
But then I wake up. I'm 52, I can't play guitar. the room is completely dark. The time on my watch says 04:45. My back hurts and I've really got to pee :)
See Whammy bar or tremolo bar found on, say, Floyd Rose bridges. Far superior to bending the neck... but, if you want to get radical on your vintage Gibson flying V or something... have at it.
Leave the guitar around some moisture and extreme heat or cold and you can bend the neck permanently.
Probably 'Old Hat' for those who are into and serious about their guitars and expanding their playing abilities however I thought that I'd share these:

For All the Ozzies and Me Too
So it started on the drive home from work with this:

I couldn't help but remember that when they first came out in the States, I wasn't a big fan. I know right, but I was young and dumb and like my Pop used to say, "You can't get to old and smart 'til ya pass young and stupid" Needless to say, over the years, I've warmed up to them nicely. This song in particular with the long bagpipe breaks which I really dig.
Then I started to think about the Aussie bands I heard all the time while walking down the street in the Philippines. Lots of Aussies vacation there. Pretty women, good beer, beautiful weather and a certain morally casual attitude prevails so what's not to like? The bars constantly played Austrailian bands and many of the local bars were owned by Aussie ex-pats. Here's some that stand out in my memory.

And certainly no posting of AC DC would be complete without Jim Breuer (from Palm Harbor, Florida by way of Long Island...uh I mean Longuyland)

Sorrow is an angel that comes to you in blue light to show you what is wrong just to see if you'll set it right......I wanna get it right this time.
Where do the souls of unrealized dreams go? Lol. This makes me proud to live where I do.

I wish that I could have seen these guys live. I have one of their albums with this song on it and of course the studio was able to adjust his voice for the intro but I really like this.

Ah Tommy Emmanuel! The reason I bought a Maton guitar for myself was because I hoped one day to play like him. I'm nowhere near it yet, but I suppose at least I can play a few tunes...And it's good to see a few of the Aussie bands make an appearance here too.
Been listening to this band lately. I like their music.

We listen to a lot of music, but mostly streaming radio it seems these days.
Radio Paradise is our favourite, a mix of old and new, and everything else in between. No ads, and listener supported, which we do. You can stream straight from the website or there are a variety of formats and bit rates on the listen page to suit your connection which you just drag and drop into your music player, like winamp etc. The 64k AAC+ is the one we use, excellent quality and doesn't use too much bandwidth. A great way to hear new artists, and old favourites as well.
A great old song that the Steve Miller band did, here is the original. and I think, better version of Jet Airliner.

I was in the mood for some Charlie Daniels tonight. So here goes:
No one does Orange Blossom Special better than Charlie. He rocks some really good hats too.

Well, cuda's post with the young brothers playing together, and 1OldGi's post of the soggy bottom boys prompted some memories. Here is a traditional song that has been done by everyone from Townes Van Zandt to Bob Dylan, and a few in between, but this is my favourite version, Clarence Ashley - "Cuckoo Bird".

Leo Kottke...simply amazing what that guy can do with a 12 string
Was listening to Leo last night. World turning. Brilliant.
I've been on a bit of a Manics kick tonight. If memory serves, these guys got together just down the road from Jamie in Caerphilly...

This was one of my favourite Fleetwood Mac songs, but I really like this version, don't know who the original artist was, but a great number.

Currently Listening to Led Zep, Thin Lizzy to follow - Come on!
Been hitting the acoustic guitar a bit more of late. Haven't put enough time into practice on the old six string for some time. Decided I wanted to learn some stuff outside my normal Country music repertoire, and go for some rock instead. Checking out a few different versions of Bon Jovi's 'Wanted' when I came across this one.
