Lou Reed, still can't believe he's gone:

Something from my youth;
Didn't like the 'split' or 'mirror ' screen all those years ago but I've always loved the music :tu

do I listen to it all the time...no...but I do listen... yes
Easy Listening. Too bad these folks recently split.

I've decided to pursue a second Master's degree (an MBA) so this song seemed particularly relevant

Good God! This guy is absolutely not human. A complete freak!

Thank you my friend,
He's no freak! Very talented and I'd bet good money that he's watched this guy and learned from him/Magic Dick from the legendary J Geils Band playing his 'lickin stick'
Back in the day;

Magic Dick Whammer Jammer!
If your interested here's an 'interview' about how he played Whammer Jammer.

Strictly old time Country here. No Rock, no Hip Hop and certainly not todays so called country. I do like Bluegrass a lot
The bad: this week began with a loooong meeting made even longer by an interrupting over-talker.
The good: that put this song in my head, and Mose on the brain is never a bad thing!
The better: today was my last day at work for the next ten days or so as I move into my new house.

Great tunes for the drive home! I'm burning some vacation time so I don't have to be me 'til Wednesday. Probably a good time to ring in bourbon season with a flurish.
One of the coolest drinkin tunes ever

While I remain convinced The Boss is an America hating Communist infiltrator, I still completely dig his music. This might be the best song ever for highspeed cruising.
Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run - YouTube
And just when I paused to marvel at the quality of tunes coming from the local classic rock station, this one came on. I've never been a big Beatles fan. I'm more of a Stones guy but as far as I'm concerned these guys are arguably the greatest rock band to ever come out of the UK. Led Zeppelin, of course is a very close second. Emerson, Lake and Palmer were no slouches either.

And this one from a couple minutes ago. This is one of my all time favorite songs. Greg Lake is brilliant. Rumor has it he wrote this song when he was 12 years old.

Is there Life on Mars?
At the AGO gallery last November, saw his exhibit called, "David Bowie Is"...and actually saw and touched the suit in this video of this classic song.

Doing yardwork today so need me some ska-esk sounds and a bit more bounce.
Always sad to close the pool. Whiskey season fast approaches.
Cheers.
Lately ive been digging Richard Cheesehttp://m.youtube.com/watch?v=W5m_CdCzKYY
My new theme song! For the record, I've NEVER been a Dem but must confess Rupert Murdoch sure can pick'em

Funny I thought I was the only lunatic that had seasons for liquor. My whiskey season begins 01 October and runs through the end of March. Then there's a brief Gin and Tonic season from April until about mid June. The idea is to gang load quinnine in preparation for the Summer (mosquito season). You can't be too careful with malaria, you know. For me, the summer is just to hot to drink liquor and I'll generally drink beer during the hotter months.
Vintage Nick Lowe....nothing else need to be said here.
Caught this on last week and managed to record it in 7.1 surround; not sure if youtube can pick up how good the sound engineering was on the original broadcast. Cantrell's sound, especially when he kicks the pedal, is amazing.

The bourbon is bring out my inner redneck this evening. This is another favorite. Great writing here. I'm not a big fan of modern country but this is a favorite:

Almost the same routine for me, less the tonic, I run my gin along side vermouth instead. Like the malaria angle, will exploit that line next spring, hehe.
Beer season being so much shorter up here I opt for stronger stuff, ie Bock-ish brews @ or above 6% alc content. Although I like nearly everything cept for pale ale.
Now as for want I am listening to today.

Thought, ya boys, you go.. Love what happens at the 4 minute-ish mark.

I hope all will enjoy. Tommy Emmanuel playing a melody of Beatles tunes. He's scheduled to play in Portland OR in the spring of 2015. How I wish I could attend :banghead:

She emailed me this song to say thanks...she thinks I'm Freaky and she Likes Me a Lot (the "Offical" video is awesome, but some bad language)!

I hope all will enjoy this, he's playing in China and the crowd just loves him. Quite the selection, Beatles and ending with Classical Gas.
He will be playing in the US in the spring. If you are interested in dates, locations and tickets, check his web site out. I haven't checked for other North American dates.
I'm trying to figure out transportation as he' playing in Portland OR but it's over 300 miles away and I've love to see his show.

@ Cudarunner: Tommy Emmanuel is an absolute freak. I used his fast version of Classical Gas for a school presentation. What an amazing guitar player. Another one of those guys who looks like he's not even trying/ just plinking around while he's doing super human musical sh...I mean stuff. I definitely need to check the website and see if he'll be anywhere in the area. I'd totally dig going to one of his shows.
