Didn't say he was bad, didn't say he was good, just better than the gargling Russian. Never wa too fond of 'popular' music to begin with. Very narrow tastes.
If I channelled the 80's I'd have to live through my divorce again. THe old saying applies, "Never look back, you never know what's gaining on you."
Mike - if you like that, you'll probably love this. It's my favourite version:

In the mood from some Ricky Skaggs Bluegrass. Oh yeah, YEE HA!

It ain't every day you see a bunch of hillbillies (uh...Appalachian-Americans that is) in suits, ties and Homberg hats.

I can not say I liked this video, but I couldn't turn it off either. I have a strange fascination some bad pop songs.

NICE! With Marc Ribot no less! Man, I gotta go listen to Raindogs now...Jockey Full of Bourbon...
Saw him in St. Louis three or four years ago-so much goodness...my favorite moment was when some guy yells LOUDLY between songs "HEY TOM! WHERE YA BEEN?" Tom doesn't miss a beat and goes "Where YOU been? Last I heard you were working at the airport..." <mumbles to himself>
Aw, heck with it...

Ever since I saw Guardians of he Galaxy, I've been putting this on while I'm on my Lathe. An Awesome mix!

I may have the slightest little crush on Hope Sandoval. She's apparently cripplingly shy, hence hiding behind her hair when she sings. How adorable is that?!?
I hate to be so predictable, but it's such an incredible song...

She is indeed my friend...she is something special. The back up singer here is named Kelly Hogan, she used to bar tend around Chicago some years back in between touring with Neko Case and would show up to tend bar at my favorite dive periodically (I miss you Delilah's...) Kelly reports she is absolutely friggin fall down funny and dangerously witty; One would be ill advised to cross swords with her. Best version of this song ever:

And for whatever reason this has been stuck in my head today...

Last one tonight. I promise.
Iggy is the scientific outlier in the hypothesis that says it's impossible to exist on black coffee and speedballs for 45 years and apparently thrive...
This is the song that forced me to learn an F chord about 35 years ago. And this version friggin shreads...The Godfather of Punk Rock. I love this guy so much...

Awesome clip, never saw that one..
Saw him in the 80's and he hasn't changed, or my eye sight has and I don't notice..
Definite 'lust for life'
Good find, cheers.
Naked For Me Now - Erin Bolton - YouTube
You know how things just get stuck in your head..
This obscure creation is one of those.
Folky yes, but I like it too..
Yes, I am biased towards this particular young artist..
Cheers
Super good post that serves the purpose of this thread (IMO). Bringing good music to the attention of others. I'm going to investigate Erin Bolton further.
In the spirit of this, I offer this. Will used to work at my best buddy Stingray's tattoo shop in Iowa City running the front, emptying garbage cans and what not. When things were slow, he'd sit out in front of the shop and busk. Discovered, and now huge.

Back atcha E. Great bluesy find.
Will grips that neck like it's keeping him on the ground. Crazy soulful sound.
Love it!
Max I am pretty sure I wore out a needle on that album.
For Cudarunner (and me too)
Unfortunately, this song came out two years after Duane's fatal motorcycle accident so Duane and Dicky Betts never played this one together. However, Mr. Betts seems more than up to the task. Reasons I personally totally dig Dicky Betts: 1) Near god-like guitar skills 2) He's a Florida boy 3) He's an old man still jammin his buttocks off 4) He's a hat guy 5) To this day he rocks a moustache that puts most 1970's porn stars to shame. So without further adieu I give you what many consider to be Dicky's hallmark tune:

PS: I was quite impressed to hear this song featured in the BBC version of Top Gear. So cool even the Brits dig it :)

Well Max since you've played my #1 drum solo song, perhaps others will like my #2. The album version is 'ok' this is live in 1970 at the Royal Albert Hall, featuring the late John Henry Bonham. His death was such a tragic loss.
