Ever have a song you haven't even thought of for a couple of decades settle into your brain for no apparent reason? Today's random high school flashback was the Screaming Blue Messiahs.

OK, here's something different. Jolene, by Dolly Parton, slowed down to 33. I thought it was Roy Orbison.

With my final semester of grad school starting in just a week, some reference to going down for the last time seemed appropriate.

Getting the Led out on a Thursday evening. Now time for some B&B (no, not that other shaving site, I've been banned for life, thank God). I mean beer and baseball.

Kenny Chesney - She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy - YouTube
While I have a wide assortment of musical interests Glen got me thinking 'country' so I looked this one up. I'd love to party with this woman!

Zeppelin How the West was Won in the car. Megadeth and Tchaikovsky on the ipod
Bluegrass all the way home on the radio in the truck. What!? Fellas, me thinks this Sirius stuff is the bee's knees.

I've always liked Tom T. Hall, I think that they way he 'tells the story' is fascinating.
Here's a little clip of him later in life doing my absolute favorite song of his. I LOVE the intro!

Great Choice in not only tunes but performers
Lola brought to mind this done many years later but about the same 'subject'
It's one of the few that I can post that Rodney's done :roflmao :rofl2: :roflmao:rofl2::tu

After a couple of mild heart attacks, various epithets hurled at the screen, five goals, more missed chances, and a stonking extra time winner, I am a very happy and relieved Gooner. However it would be remiss of me not to recognize the part Hull FC played in creating a great final match. So for any Hull fans out there - congrats on a great cup run.
And in their honour, one of my favourite songs from my favourite Hull band: the Beautiful South.

iTunes radio...and a minute ago Cinnamon Girl by Neil Young ended...took me back on a little mind trip.
Damn, I miss Dire Straits so much. Thank God for Knopfler doing his thing.

A bunch of friends hit the stage at the Dakota Tavern, and fun ensues. That's Danny Michel leading the way. I'm afraid I don't know who's on sax, drums, bass, or harp, but there's Sarah Harmer on acoustic, Ed Robertson from Barenaked Ladies on piano, and the phenomenal Luke Doucet on the ironic strat. Ironic in the sense that he never plays a strat and while he loves SRV, people who imitate SRV's style drive him a bit crazy. But hey, when you're playing an SRV part in a song, you might as well use the appropriate tools. :)
