Well, it's Fathers Day again. While I don't have any kids, I am the son of a truly Good man and the best father I could have hoped for. Kind, loving, supportive, demanding, and so strong in every way, he brought the best out of me and taught me what it really means to be a man. I always respected him, never feared him, and always wanted to be him. In short, he is the opposite of guy who inspired Eddie to write this song (who dedicated it to "the bastard who married" his Mom).
This goes out to my Dad, and to all the other fathers who have *been* the better man.

Leonard Cohen's greatest hits for ironing the other day - it seems to be my ironing music at the mo, and mercury rev, the secret migration over a cuppa at work. Might put bowie on next.
Lou Rawls, Dead end street, and Mr Jimmy Hendrix The wind cries Mary.

I believe where Mephisto lives summer time rolls at present..
He trips her as
Her sandals fail
She says stop!
I'm a girl...
Whose fingernails are made
Of mother's pearl...
Yellow buttercup
Helicopters
Orange buttercat
Chasing after
The crazy bee
Mad about somebody...
Me and my girlfriend
Don't wear no shoes
Her nose is painted pepper
Sunlight...
She loves me
I mean it's serious
As serious can be...
This song, these days, reminds me of my son, who 'don't wear no shoes'
Jane's Addiction - Summertime Rolls (Hammerstein Ballroom) - YouTube
One of the saddest songs I know; I wonder if Jane ever DID go away to Spain?
I love audience participation at concerts, and you KNOW everyone here knows these words by heart...

Investigation Discovery - Motives and Murders.
Working and TV is running. So just "listening"!
Cold Play right now. The Discography.
Old pink Floyd this morning, and a nice cuppa. Helps with the rainy day blues.
For any of you Hendrix/All Along the Watch Tower fans, check out this version -

Looks like I'm the oddball in this thread. I'm listening to Percy Williams' album "Bouquet" while settling down for the evening.
:)
Right now, not listenig to much here at the office but last night, I enjoyed a relaxing evening listening to an old favourite album of mine - Keith Jarrett's "The Köln Concert"
Beautiful!
The radio was jammin on the way home from work
Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven Live (HD) - YouTube
Also, funniest youtube comment seen to day "I love Led Zeppelin but Page really needs to get some underwear" :)
The Rolling Stones - Angie - OFFICIAL PROMO (Version 1) - YouTube
Well no one can accuse me of not having a diverse taste in music, from classical to opera from Rhythm & Blues through to Rock & Roll, and a bit of country, so here's the beautiful voice of the late Marty Robbins with Devil Woman.

Nick Cave was posted recently, as was Leonard Cohen. I give you this. Tell me it's not great.

The Verdicts - The Mummys Ball
I love that Song, Doo Wop at its Best IMO :)
It's great. I love the way Nick starts off sort of secondary to the background singers and then takes over the song completely and makes it his entirely. Nick Cave is such a cool dude. He always makes me feel like rushing out and buying a dark suit, white shirt and Victorian mourning cufflinks....
Alice In Chains, Nutshell, unplugged, very loud on the headphones...
We chase misprinted lies
We face the path of time
And yet I fight
And yet I fight
This battle all alone
No one to cry to
No place to call home

This one's for Rockabillyhelge. :)
Every time I see your name, I think of what is probably my all-time favourite cover album: This is Rockabilly Clash. I think this might be my favourite song from that album, but honourable mention must go to the Caravans' version of Jail Guitar Doors, The Pistollers' Bankrobber and the really weird Rancho Deluxe version of Guns of Brixton (not to be confused with the Honeydrippers smooth & groovy version...). Great stuff.

The quiet hum of the air con and rain drumming on a tin roof, hopefully it'll send me to sleep...
