Wife got weary of her NCIS the other night and tossed me the remote....
I have piles of Gunsmoke on the DVR.....

We got to talking of Festus (Ken Curtis) and I told her to ask her phone....
The man was a talented Genius. Original member of the Sons of the Pioneers.
In more movies than anyone. On Gunsmoke for 11 years.

I find it very interesting that he was with Tommy Dorsey before the Pioneers! Says volumes----------

As a follow-up to my prior post, I've been scratching my head all night over the first song as linked below, thinking that it reminds me of something else I've heard. And in ransacking my failing memory, I came up with the second song as linked. From what I can tell, they both came out at about the same time, both bands at this time being based in San Francisco.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

My friend and fellow member here Helge turned me onto Rockabilly Radio and I usually have it playing here at the Boars Nest. Here's a DJ that I always get a big kick out of.

That's why I posted it! I'd never seen a ventriloquist who had his puppets not only sing but sing Very Well.

Today's jam is one I don't play nearly often enough: one of the kings of Outlaw Country, Waylon Jennings:

And one of my new faves; Sturgill Simpson could be Waylon's son!

Watch his band if you're a musician: that hipster lead guitar is amazing! Enjoy-SHD
