A close family friend used to live in NYC, and she travelled in his social circle on occasion. She tells me that he was an incredibly humble and likeable guy. His friends simply called him "Meat."

It seems from my memory only Belushi and Kennison were more inclined to go code red during a performance than these 2.
Meat was 74. A great life!
