The Smiths on my laptop at home, and Frank Turner in the car stereo.

    This is my chance
    This is my voice
    There may be no tomorrow
    This is my plea
    This is my need
And my time of standing free
This is myself, this is my day
In a world that’s never safe
    It’s OK
You know I love you anyway

St Patrick's Day always reminds me of my all-too-infrequent visits to Ireland. Wonderfully strange things that can not necessarily be repeated here have happened to me every time I have visited Dublin, my Grandfather's home town. But one happy coincidence I can mention came in 2002 when I went to Dublin for a footie match then found out that one of my favourite bands was also playing there on the same weekend. And so I joined what must have been the largest collection of ex-pat Canadians in Europe at Whelan's Pub for a great set by Blue Rodeo.

This one goes out not to the Canadian guy who kept screaming "Hasn't Hit Me Yet! Hasn't Hit Me Yet!", but to the Irish dude who turned around and said "I'll fecking hit you..."

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

And I can't resist posting this one. As ever, Animal steals the show. "Oh boy, oh boy... oh Danny"

For those who may be curious of the traditions behind St Patrick's Day, here's a little explanation. Enjoy!
