Here's one of mine....a 1929 Sheaffer Lifetime Senior Flattop.

Back when I produced DVD's for sale on the internet, I flew a gent out from Missouri to film a couple videos on fountain pen repair.

I've gone as far as to do a little bit of 3D in Maya to help explain how to do some basic repairs on a lever fill pen...

Note: I watched this for the first time in a couple years and noticed that it was a promotion I did for a friend. Not really spam since he no longer sells any products mentioned in the video.

    Smile Oh the Inksanity!

If there is anyone else interested in trading ink samples, I have two 5ml vials cleaned and ready to go. If you have ink and want to trade drop me a PM. I've found that 2 to 3ml is enough to fill most converters multiple times, eye droppers just once. Bill, they're on the way!
I just refilled my Noodlers Flex nib with Air Corp blue black again. I love the way it writes now that I've channeled out the feed as per Nathan's video
, and this ink is very business appropriate with a bit of color.

Bassguy...the ink just arrived this evening. I already loaded up a pen with the Black Swan, thanks.

I got some sample vials from Goulet, so I'll load up a few and send them back. I'm thinking Kon Peki, Yama Budo and Herbin 1670.

Thanks for getting this going. Anybody else interested???

I think I caught the FPAD. My collection has grown rapidly. I've now got a Pilot VP in Blue Carbonesque, a Lamy Al-Star, a Pelikano Jr., a Nakaya Briarwood, and just pulled the trigger on an NOS vintage Montblanc 149...

In addition, I've learned to love inks. I have a bottle of Private Reserve Burgundy Mist. It has a great look to it. I also got a split of Iroshizuku tsuki-yo. That was a gateway purchase, two more Iroshizuku inks are enroute: fuyu-syogun and yama-guri...

    Someone save me from myself!!!

Not sure if it's been posted yet or not, but a piston filler for that price I'd suggest the TWSBI. Search for it on Ebay and it'll turn up! Good luck.

Those Iroshizuku inks are something else, aren't they? I don't normally like blues but WOW Kon Peki is amazing.
Also, I got some good use out of J Herbin 1670 for Valentine's Day, of the blood red inks I've tried this is my favorite. Rumor has it they'll discontinue the special anniversary bottle but keep making the ink. Woot!

The Iroshizuku inks are really fantastic inks. I only have two, and have tried a couple more, but I can see another bottle or two in my future.

If J Herbin keeps making the 1670 ink but discontinues the anniversary bottle that will be a good development IMO. The neck on the special edition bottle is way too small for my liking, although it does look good.

    Default Fountain Pens

I've recently started using a FP again, and just purchased a Limited Edition ink from 'that other shaving forum', and then today noticed Obie selling a straight razor and in the picture was a BEAUTIFUL pen.

So Obie if you see this, is your collection and taste in pens as exquist and....costly.... as it is in razors and soaps/creams?

Anybody else use them? I'm currently going through a pleothra of cheap chinese FP's trying out nibs and trying to find a style I like before I go and spend more then $30 on a pen.
    Obie likes this.
