    Default Mead

Anybody here ever have a glass of the stuff? I'm currently enjoying a glass of sweet mead from a Canadian meadery in Alvinston.

For the uninitiated, mead is wine made from honey. It can be pretty rough stuff, giving a hangover like you wouldn't belive... which is why I suppose I should be thankful the bottle is almost done!

I have had mead and enjoy a glass here and again. There is even a meadery close by in Pittsboro, NC which makes a very good mead.

I love me some mead. I do agree that there is no alcohol hangover that can even touch a mead hangover.

Mead is the only drink that can compete with tequila in my own personal hangover hall of shame. It is a different hangover from tequila, but man oh man it is something spectacular.

I actually had mead for the first time in 19 years the other night. I'm not a fan of sweet booze, so it was just one glass and no repeat of the hellish hangover which was very welcome. I think anyone who likes sweet drinks (ice wine for example) should definitely give it a shot. It is unique and very tasty, but best approached with caution.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

I bought a bottle of it a while back. Didn't too much like it really. The bottle came with a package of mulling spices and so I tried it that way as well. Still didn't much care for it.

Not that it was awful, it's just not for me.
