My budget doesn't allow a frequent indulgence, but I do love a good scotch. I have Macallan 12, and 15 "fine oak" (gift from my wife, fiance at the time). The 12 sits in a decanter to share with the world, and the 15 stays in a cabinet for me and closer friends/relatives.

I've tried GlennFiddich 15 and Glenlivet 12... Did not care for the Glenlivet.. Fiddich was good, but not as good as Macallan.

Might have to try some of the other suggestions here though!

I agree. They make a large difference when nosing and tasting a good Scotch, similar to using the proper glasses for wines.

I picked up a set of those and a set of 'Whiskey stones' from a group on. I love them.

I'm drinking Ardbeg tonight. Really smoky tasting, but I love it.

Hi, I'm new to the forum and ran across this thread. I try to buy a good quality scotch once every week or two. I'm a Speyside or Highland guy. My favorite so far abs the one I keep going back to is the Aberlour A'Bunadh. Full cask strength, aged in Oloroso sherry casks and just delicious.

My number two, for just an every day drinker, I love love the Yamazaki. The 12 is affordable and fantastic!

Very nice. My favourite is Glenmorangie, but I drink a number of single malts. I do enjoy the occasional blend, even though it's heresy. LOL I like the new Johnnie Walker Double Black.

I favorite so far is Johnnie Walker Black, I've only managed to try a number of blends on my budget. How do you think they compare taste-wise.
No that pistol isn't the only thing under my kilt, but I can tell you both of them work just fine

The only way I can think of it that it's smokier and darker tasting than the standard black label.

I don't have any right now or I'd take a sip and explain the tastes. ;-)
