I've only tried the 12. It's good whisky but nothing spectacular in my opinion. It seems like it has a little bit of everything: spice, fruit, wood and smoke, though it is extremely well balanced. I'd like to try the 18. What is it like?

I had a bottle of Glenmorangie LaSanta a few weeks ago. Not bad at all. It's no Aberlour though. That stuff is awesome!

Thats what I've heard and it only makes me think I need to pick up a bottle
No that pistol isn't the only thing under my kilt, but I can tell you both of them work just fine

I'm not so fond of the La Santa. I prefer the standard 10 year old. I like it better than the 18 actually. I do like to get Nectar D'Or once in a while. It has a nice vanilla and almost sweet taste to it. I think it's like white chocolate or something like that. (the chocolate description is from Glenmorangie not from me, I can't seem to pin it down for myself).

That being said, I do like Aberlour. I'll have to pick up a bottle when my current selection is running low.

If you like the regular Black, I think this is a must try. The Double Black just seems to amplify some of the darker notes in a good way. As usual, I'm sure there are those that wouldn't like it, but either way, it's worth it to try it.

I am an avid bourbon drinker but have recently had a co-worker introduce me to some of his favorite scotches. I believe I had Macallan 12 year and Glenlivet 12. My favorite was the macallan. I have only had blended scotch but I enjoyed the single malts. Bourbon is my comfort zone, especially after a nice shave in the evening.

Last Wednesday, a friend gave me a sampler of JW Blue. That is good stuff! Friday, I got a bottle of Glenlivet Nadurra. Sixteen years old, cask-strength (54% ABV) and non-chill-filtered. Very good, but definitely redolent of the oak it was matured in. I prefer Aberlour Abunadh, which is also cask strength and unfiltered but matured in sherry butts. Think Macallan to the power of 10!

I really enjoy the blue but for the money try the gold! It's much MUCH less and IMO/E just as good!

Our local Costco has both of those in stock. I'm going to have to check out the Gold sometime soon...

I've found Te Bheag to be immensely enjoyable for the price. I mean, compared to other Scotches in this price range, there's no contest.
