I have the EGO Tank kit. I use it as a substitute to smoking but have no intention of quiting all together. I had quit cold turkey for 5 years then started again. I do not drink much and find this is one thing I enjoy and do for me. Selfish yes, but my one vice.
Vaping allows me to get the needed fix with reduced harm. And Like Carrie stated I really enjoy the flavour. Currently right now I am vaping USA Mix and RY4. Pretty common standar flavours but far better than a real smoke.

It certainly is healthier, but unfortunately humans have a hard time doing something because it is categorically good or bad. There are many other factors that complicate these decisions. A good example is the physical habit-- the chemical addiction to a substance is relatively easy to overcome, but the physical cues and habit, as well as the context for the activity, are much harder to put aside. I.E. If you always smoke with your coffee, you feel awkward and unsettled if you don't have a cig in your hand when you drink your cup.

I bought a disposable at the 7-11 but it tastes like A$$. I was seriously unimpressed.
I smoke Marlboro lights 100s regularly and every now and so often I treat myself to a pack of Lucky Strike. And I loooOOOooooove my cigars, though I am smoking less of them since I started spending my money on razors.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. Junk hardware and bunk liquid is typically what those stores sell.
If you are interested go to innovapor.com. Their liquid is the best quality you'll find anywhere. Get a 510 or m4 starter kit and you'll be very happy. Coupon code 'triple play' for 15% off. Call and ask for mark if you have any questions. He'll help you out.Last edited by gomatty; 04-22-2011 at 01:20 AM.

Many of the disposables do taste really nasty. Out of all the ones I have heard of NJoy seems to be the best of the mess if you want to call it that. There are a couple of places on the web that have 510 starter kits for around $20 pick up a bottle of liquid to refill and you would be good to go for a couple of weeks. Lots of different flavors to try and if you really get serious about it then you can start mixing your own juice. I do that myself. It's much cheaper than buying it in the long run

My PV shop has a decent 510 starter kit for $19.79 if you use the coupon code ECF10. I just got one for Joe to use at work. They also have a 6 pk of sample liquids for $15.99 (then you get 10% off that) and you can choose what flavors you would like. I normally recommend going for a couple of high strength and a couple of med strength to find the ones that work for you. myPVshop Electronic Cigarettes - The Joye510 Electronic Cigarette
If anyone wants more info please feel free to pm myself or any of the other members here that have been using these for a while

Thanked: 30Well I must concur, tobacco e-cigs are no good substitute for a cig. I was always fond of the alcohol and fruity flavors.
Yea, there was a whole bunch of stuff out there, including a horrible report that has permenentaly damaged my view of the FDA as any sort of a scientific endeavor. That was their initial bad report, and was actually removed from the FDA's website.
Fun tidbits, reporting something as detectable without stating what the limits of detection or limits of quantitization (ie actual measurement) were for things. The fact they appear to have put it against the patch instead of a cigarette (no defined control group) and lastly if you pulled up the stats on the FDA approved patch, the e-juice (yea they measured the juice directly, not what was actually inhaled) was the same or less for common carcinogens. now you see why I said appear.
I will not venture to say its safe until the years pan out. I will say it makes sense.
Happy Vapping friends, I will re-join you the second these people let me go!
I replaced cigs with e-cigs for a couple years. This dang job requires the lil bit o psych meds a cig give me. Previous occupation the e-cig ruled the day.

Just stumbled across this thread, I too enjoy the art of vaping. Currently using the 'Totally Wicked Tornado Tank' whilst out of the house. At home I mainly use my GGTS (Golden Greek Telescopic). My SWMBO doesn't smoke so these are my alternative to standing outside for my nicotine hit.

Thanked: 194I read more than a few things that sounded pretty scary to me. I am not sure if any of it was true but I have never smoked one and never will due to what I read. I just have no need to. Interesting to see so many people smoking them. I really hope they are safe for everyones sake :|

I think most people that use them have read the stories but none of it has been proven, mostly because of the length of time they've been on the market. That being said if you read the list of ingredients used to make the nicotine liquids (from reputable sources) there is nothing I would consider dangerous (other than nicotine its self which is a poison). In fact the most common ingredient is vegetable glycerine that we all spread on our faces as soap and eat in many food products on a daily basis.
Health wise they do not produce tar like regular cigarettes and in my opinion they can't be any worse than actually smoking. Most people do not use these as a way to quit but simply to replace. I spend a lot of time reading medical research and papers on these and have found more evidence to support the pros the the cons at this stage. I should say at this point that I don't sell them, but I am involved with a forum for the users of them.
As with all news we generally only hear about the bad.
