caught them 2 years ago in glasgow, have seen the stones, metallica, U2 and too many others to name and these guys were the best of them all. The only people that came close (and i mean really close) were the who. and that was basically just townshend and daltry

had to bung this up as well, it's the most insane video i think i've ever seen. in an awesome way..

Some how, they remind me of my 50 year old, chain smoking, neighbour when I was growing up in Gippsland.

AC/DC definitely has a timlessness about their music, which is definitely derived from their unique style. They are, to me, classic rock & roll personified. Repetitive chords, simple beats, and driving lyrics.

But, if one will give a nod to AC/DC in rock, I think it's worth pointing out that Motorhead is, in many ways, their parallel in metal.

I would second that, there's also a timelessness to motorhead, and they have an edge and aggression which defies their age and has not dated, whereas some bands, when i go back and listen to them, have not dated as well as i thought they might. early metallica for instance. I love metallica, but listening to say ride the lightening, even s of master of puppets? hasn't aged gracefully

I can still listen to any old Metallia album on repeat for days and be a very happy camper. But the albums definitely sound old, and the mere fact that new Metallica is so different shows that the timeless element is lacking. I can't speak for the post-Newsted era, but I saw Metallica live in... 2004ish - they played nearly all old music and still sounded great.

AC/DC is not bad, but imo their best work was with Bon Scott.
I once tried getting concert tickets, but they sold out in less than 5 minutes.
