Oh My God, how good are AC/DC..
if there was ever a finer thing in life it's these guys. They sing about girls drinking and rocking, they play the same three chords. they're just rock personified.
This dude in the 70's didn't have a clue what to make of them

caught them 2 years ago in glasgow, have seen the stones, metallica, U2 and too many others to name and these guys were the best of them all. The only people that came close (and i mean really close) were the who. and that was basically just townshend and daltry
had to bung this up as well, it's the most insane video i think i've ever seen. in an awesome way..

AC/DC definitely has a timlessness about their music, which is definitely derived from their unique style. They are, to me, classic rock & roll personified. Repetitive chords, simple beats, and driving lyrics.
But, if one will give a nod to AC/DC in rock, I think it's worth pointing out that Motorhead is, in many ways, their parallel in metal.

I would second that, there's also a timelessness to motorhead, and they have an edge and aggression which defies their age and has not dated, whereas some bands, when i go back and listen to them, have not dated as well as i thought they might. early metallica for instance. I love metallica, but listening to say ride the lightening, even s of master of puppets? hasn't aged gracefully

AC/DC is not bad, but imo their best work was with Bon Scott.
I once tried getting concert tickets, but they sold out in less than 5 minutes.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Thanks for this video. I've spent my teenage years (back then) listening to AC/DC and Bon Scott. To me he was always the one and only real singer of the band. After he died i totally lost my interest of it. Brian Johnson maybe isn't bad at all, but on his times the band has became sort of a parody of itself, imho. They've lost the spirit long time ago.
Interestingly there was also another great artist mentioned: Alex Harvey. I still keep listening SAHB every now and then. Not to mention about Rory Gallagher and Philip Lynott. Kids these days do not have any idea of the times when dinosaurs still ruled the earth.Last edited by Sailor; 06-23-2011 at 03:52 PM.
