Well first of all, a oblique penholder isn't made for left handed people, but to make it possible to produce the thick lines, in Copperplate and Spencerian. I know, that left handed oblique pen holders exits, so I think that somebody gave that a thought.

I really can't say if they help, but I guess so.

I've seen amazing calligraphy from left handed only using a straight pen holder. [emoji4]

    Thank you Kristian.
I've ordered a left hand holder to see how it goes. No worries if it doesn't at $14 it isn't a very big loss.

I'm looking very forward to seeing how I do working on this type of script

Goldlettering birthday card for my wife, in Spencerian script. She's turning 40 on Monday. The gift? Well of cause it's a diamond ring. She gave me a Montblanc 149 when I turned 40 [emoji4]

Well my oblique pen holder and Nibs arrived today, along with the ink and practice paper.
So now it's off to try my hand with a dip pen later this afternoon

Well I have been practicing a bit with this new dip pen. It is different from the cartridge pens I own.
Also the Nib is fine and I'm trying to find the proper hold and angle to write at so it doesn't "scratch" the paper. Being left handed I push the pen which causes this to happen. And as you can see at the top, I drug my hand on that sheet once

Thanks for looking and any helpful advice is much appreciated

That's pretty good for a first attempt, very good in fact.

Concentrate on keeping the angle of the slope the same on each letter, that will make a huge difference. I know it sounds boring, but try some alphabets too. Repetition is the best practice.

Good luck and keep it up.
