I feel kinda old school here because I use an old dip style fountain pen with an old leather bound journal for my thoughts. The cartridge style always flowed to fast for me.
Shaving with facial hair is like a golfcourse. It's a challenge of rough and fairways. You are the skilled greenskeeper of your face?

Thanked: 227Re: Any Fountain Pen Users?
I made a discovery today.
I was digging about looking for my wifes passport and I looked in a box full of her late fathers things she keeps. There I found 2 old Parker vaccumatics we didn't know were there. Still in good working order. I told my wife and asked if she wanted them cleaned up for her as she is a fountain pen user as well. She said that was a lovely idea and she would like me to use one as well.
I have a great wife.

Thanked: 2I use a lamy safari, nothing special, just writes really well.
I use the lamy ink but I am thinking about purchasing some noodlers.
One thing I noticed is that sometimes the ink bleeds out of the track that runs down to the point, I have no idea, it does not affect the writing either.

Any Fountain Pen Users?
I'm using a Waterman every day actually. I love the feeling of having things that lasts. I just fill it up and I'm ready to go! Besides I love to hand it to customers when they sign a deal. It gives them the little, but important feeling of exclusivity.

Thanked: 5I love fountain pens and use them daily. In fact I can only write with fountain pens, the two main ones I have are my waterman hemisphere (my introduction into slightly more pricier pens) and my daily and most expensive pen being a pelikan souveran with both pens I use bottled ink, lasts longer and is always a conversation starter when filling. Not only that the pelikan only takes bottled ink.

If you want to write, use a pen. If you want to express yourself, use a fountain pen.
It seems fountain pens and straight razors go hand in hand...both are an homage to an earlier time.
My personal, but small stash gets used in a tight rotation and includes one that I inherited from my uncle. It may be more modest than some of the others, but it's the most special to me.Last edited by Peter57; 01-15-2013 at 11:20 PM.

Thanked: 485Hey guys. I could go to another forum I used to frequent, but I haven't been there for ages and it feels a little rude just popping up and asking a question; so I'll ask you lot. I have a Swan Mabie Todd I think it is, 40's I think, leverless. I get a lot of leakage and it's getting annoying. It's a really wet nib, and nicely flexible but still nice for everyday stuff. The feed and nib simply pull out of the pen. They do seem to fit back in reasonably tightly, but I'm wondering if it's tight enough and if it needs some sort of method to seal the feed a bit.
Any suggestions to stop the leaking (I think some ink is migrating up the feed (nib creep) but I don't think this fully explains the leakage).Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?
