My family and I are allowed to live with a pair of benevolent cats. The older male is probably one of the best cats I've ever owned. He's got a much more dog-like attitude and insists on constantly being with people and actually doesn't mind water. As a kitten it was not uncommon for him to jump in the shower with me. Being kindred codgers, we're pretty good buds, he'll only drink water from a running sink. Every morning he follows me to the bathroom I turn on the water so he can have a drink while he supervises stropping of the razor. I then fill the sink up with water and soak my brush. He waits patiently while I take a shower and then hangs out to closely supervise the actual shave. When I come out of the bathroom, he generally jumps back in bed with my wife.

The female, my son's cat, is a bit more aloof and neurotic (like a normal cat). Unless she's hungry and he's not around, she has no interest in any living human other than my son. She totally loves him and will hang by his side constantly but I doubt she would care if the rest of the world inexplicably disappeared for good.
The older I get, the better I was

Currently only 2 cats, a abyssinian and a toyger cat. My work dog has died in a car accident (my car got mangled between a large truck and the fencing on the highway). In the past we had siamese, maine coons, dobermanns, german and belgian shepherds, rats, ferrets, parrot.

I was brought up with dogs as a lad. My father was a show breeder of Welsh Wire Haired terriers and Airedales. Always had a dog for many years.

These days, I live alone and, as I'm out half the time, I wouldn't have a dog as they need the company. I have had a moggy for several years now and she's fine with me going out! As long as there is food she doesn't give a damn if I'm there or not. Typical moggy. She has a cat flap to go out when she feels like it and she sits on me when I'm in. I know I'm her staff and it suits me!

    Default Green Cheek Conure

Although I grew up with dogs (mixed mutt then lhasas), I have owned a green cheeked conure for almost 6 years now. Children insisted I get a live-in roommate post-divorce. Buddy is a great pet and does some talking. He's very aggressive with company for a bird that weighs barely 2 oz. He's got primary colors galore: maroon tail, green body wings, blue primaries, etc. Name: 1)Buddy.jpg

Are you sure it's a he and not a she? Sounds like the bird thinks of you as it's other half.

Heck no. I'm totally unsure of sex and understand that a DNA test is needed to determine the sex.

A very nice golden retriever, Murray, lets me live with him. Here he is contributing some raw materials for the hanging hair test - since I am bald. Maybe that would be the hanging fur test...???

2 pure blood pits Kodiak 65lbs and Beau-hemoth 75lbs, 1 pit mix Bronx 95lbs, and a crazy 8lb cat named Kiki. All rescued all integral parts of our family. I really couldn't imagine a world with out pit bulls. They have the most outrageous personalities and are so damn loving.
