nice set up i occasionaly take my ar 15 out and shoot a 30 rd clip thru it at paper freehanded. Not towards anyone that shoots target alot but i just lose intrest in it after a clip or so and i dont know i guess i get bored not seeign any result of my shots. When hunting if you make a shot you have some extra meat for diner that night if not your animal runs away and with paper it dosent matter how long you take to prepare your shot or to reload you still will get a second chance to make a good shot. Like i said nothing towards you that love to shoot the paper. I do it when i get a new rifle to sight it in. I just love the thril of not knowing if you will get a second chance if you miss so you try hard to shoot straight and fast.

Sounds like you could use a reactive target of some sort. Water jugs are good and steel is better. Nothing makes me smile more than hitting a something the size of the top of a soda can at 100 yards with big bore and hearing that delayed ping.
No that pistol isn't the only thing under my kilt, but I can tell you both of them work just fine

Here's my best bull from today. I was adjusting my feet a bit, as suggested.

CZ425 Special, CCI SV (10 shots), 14x mag, offhand, 50 feet.

What kind of sight picture do you see at 50 feet with 14x magnification? I shoot archery and I know it is comparing apples to oranges but... I have been backing off on my magnification. Indoors we shoot 60 feet and at those ranges I think magnification after a certain point [not much] can cause more troubles than it helps. Our x rings are 1 5/8 inches.

I actually can't recall offhand how much I can see at 14x, but I do know what you mean about high mag potentially causing problems. At first, I tried using something like 18x or 20x, but my arc of movement seemed so exaggerated and I shot terribly. After 5 rounds, I dropped all the way down to the min on my scope, 8.5x, and slowly started working up.

FWIW, the guy who I'm assuming is the best shooter at my club and one of the top in the state, shoots at 20x offhand at 50 feet.

You want magnification? I give you NightForce!

Sitting atop a Remington 22-250, spotting varmints at up to 600 yards...

Nice setup, eflatminor. Is that a Boyds stock? How are you liking it?

Boyds are great stocks but this is a standard Remington stock. I love it.

I went with the mcmillon (one of the best tactical stock makers) and for a scoPe I went the a Leupold LRT tactical mil reticle 6.5 x 14 x 50 mm... Nice shooter, but heavy... I better get it with thefirst shot, cause i damn sure can't run after it...
