Any new toys from the attic?
This is one of my favoritesIts stoked with Black Talons and carried in a DeSantis OTW,when failure is not an option.
I figured we need a post thats called toys, instead of just do you have a CCW. This way we dont hijack the post, also just got a new camera and this is its test, my new Stag will be up soon

Not sure if this is only guns or not, so disregard my new toys if it is.
I just got this Cold Steel Bowie and had it engraved($5.00) with my son's birth place & date. Added a survival kit in the handle; a cheap and durable knife.
I collect Zippos too. Got "Rovng Mary" here; she raced from 1959-62
Career Statistics:
•Starts: 23
•Firsts: 4
•Seconds: 2
•Thirds: 2
•Earnings: $17,194
This Zippo was carried by Soldier M.A. Myerson during the Korean War.
Oh well, I live a boring life.

Thanked: 1936I'm hoping to have a new toy in the mail sometime this week: Rock River LAR-8 Predator HP
Of course I know, no pics...didn't happen...but it's going to happen just like I'm going to shave here in a few minutes.

I got a new toy today, and the best part is it's a lefty. I also had a weaver red dot that's about 15 years old and has been sitting in my closet waiting to be mounted on something, and this might be it,at least for a while.believe it or not this was one of the better red dots not all that long ago.Its got quad rails and as you see a forearm grip, flip up front and rear sights, and soon a red or green laser, not sure which yet, anyone have any experience with the green ones yet? Forgot, this is a STAG ARMS 8a in 5.56

I guess am a bit low tech in the toy dept, but here is my beautiful Lancaster .40 Cal longrifle by Niel Fields of Vernal Utah, it has a 44'' swamped collerain barrel and a Jim Chambers Queen Anne style lock, and she is a real tack driver. My daughter is real handy at cleaning rabbits !!
Cheers
Ps I will be buried in a barrow in the hay paddock next to my favourite hoss and with all my toys !!

We've got to get a close-up of that rifle. Is it black powder?

G'day you blokes, yes its black powder, them brass manglers are just a passing fad, don't reckon they will ever catch on. I am away at work at the moment, so you will have to wait 10 days or so till I get home, then will post on this thread. If I can do it earlier I will
Cheers

Thanked: 2027Am reading a great book at the moment,Sniper, the history of the American sharpshooter, covers firearms in america from columbus to the present time.
Of note is that when the flinters began using rifled barrels (backwoodsmen) the military took note and used them as a side faction of the regular grunts.
In Battle they would be hiding in the backround as was there Ilk and were used to take out the officers on horseback.
Headshots of 300/400 yrds were the norm for these guys, they were used well into the 18th century, even in the civil war.
