+1 for any Rush album. Although I'd narrow it down to a select few recent ones and then any studio album released from '75 to '89. Couldn't choose just one..

Seems an impossible task to pick only three. I've only picked each artist once but could easily select several albums from each of these guys. No compilation albums.

3. On the Beach. Neil Young.
