    Default Top Three Albums

    Gentlefolk:

What are your top three albums of all time? I'm talking your greatest here: the ones that make you feel weird if you can't listen to the whole thing.

    "Astral Weeks" - Van Morrison
The man is a true shaman, taking you along on a mystical journey through his past, present, future, and soul. The fact that it was done in just two days is a marvel, and the urgency of catharsis comes through in every bar.

    "Graceland" - Paul Simon
The love of life that comes through in this can't be contained. You can hear Paul rediscovering pure joy through those jams in Johannesburg, a music lovefest of souls speaking through tone and meter.

"Dark Side of the Moon" - Pink Floyd
Dark Side vs Wall has always been one of the classic Floyd debates, but I've always been a Moonman. To get to the moon, one must go into space, and the Floyd definitely took us there. While the soloing on Wall may be more grandiose, the band is so in sync on this record. For my money, it's the best work Richard Wright ever did.

    Hmmm, that's a tough one..

Bruce Springsteens The River is one of them. I grew up with that album, and will come back to it always.

    Jokke & Valentinerne-Alt kan repareres.
A Band that has always been around for me, the lead singer and writer grew up at my homeplace, and so this is just Me.

    Jimi Hendrix-Are you experienced.
    Just a plain fun record.
When feeling a bit down, Jimi gets the mood back in a hurry
    Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Wow-Astral Weeks and Dark Side-you just stole 2 of mine right off the bat-masterpieces start to finish both!

Let me add in no particular order:
    -Led Zep's Physical Graffiti
-The Rolling Stones Exile on Main Street (or Sticky Fingers, Goat's Head Soup, really any of those gems from their Mick Taylor/heroin years-somehow they made their most brilliant music then IMO).
-Hendrix: Axis, Bold as Live (or any of the Beatles' albums!).

I have so many more than three that it's very very hard for me to make that cut.

Right now though, I'll go with

    Pink Floyd, Animals

Neutral Milk Hotel, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea

MewithoutYou, It's All Crazy! It's All False! It's All a Dream! It's Alright!

But those are subject to change with any of a dozen different artists or albums.

Honorable mention to Frightened Rabbit, Midnight Organ Fight, and Tom Waits, various albums.

Ditto! For me, mine current top three:

KISS "ALive!" This gets played almost daily at work, good thing my boss is also a huge KISS fan.

Metallica "...And Justice for All" I just wish James and Lars would remaster this one to be able to hear Jason Newsted's bass.

Third is tough, but pretty much any Rush album.

well these should leave some of you scratching your head ..lol
    MISFITS , Legacy of Brutality
SUBHUMANS ,The Day The Country Died
    JOHNNY CASH , The Essential
this was a hard choice to make as i always have something playing from old punk , old country , or 80's alternative like the GO GO'S , ASIA , The outfield , Berlin , Nena , ect .. and mixed in with some BILL MONROE and other Blue Grass , but i guess ill post probably the 3 most listened to or at least always near the cd player

Oh, yeah-My buddies and I would play air-guitar to this one cranked up on the old console stereo in his parents' basement. Their 1st three albums and Destroyer were also awesome!
