Well you see, the thing is we have these parties........................................... .................................................. .....
For my daughters birthday, two years ago I was a pixie, for a fairy party, I had a pouch of pixie dust and a felt hat I made myself, Recon it'd double for a robin hood party. Last year was star wars so now I have Darth maul. This year is a spooky party, thinking either a zombie or Dracula.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

You don't mind me asking, my Australian friends,
Perhaps you have down there some Anonymous Users of Weird Outfit or such. I'm sure you know: 'Hello, i'm Mick and i like to dress like a pirate (and then post the pic to the whole wide world).
If not, consult Dr Freud, Vienna, Austria. I'm sure he has a theory or something.'That is what i do. I drink and i know things'

Thanked: 983Well if I was dressed like a Pixie you wouldn't catch me posting it anywhere! A Pirate costume is far less embarrassing if you ask me . And both occasions were a heap of fun. One Pirate party and one dress like a Pirate day for the kids at my daughters school.

Thanked: 983Mine is the real deal...But I didn't tell the kids that when I did my good daddy thing for my daughters school! The shirt (and hat too I suppose) can also double as a Renaissance musketeer wear with a change over to one of my Rapiers and ditching the eye patch and Bandanna. Hell, I just love an excuse to wear a sword really!

Thanked: 485So today I polished my boots with four different colours of polish; Dark Tan, Mid Tan, Black and Neutral. I wanted a 'burnished' look to the toe and heel, so used some black and dark tan on those areas. I rubbed a little bit of black in with my finger and then a little bit of dark tan. It'll take me a week or so to build up a nice even darker area that's discreet yet a feature.
Also, I waxed the laces. My last pair of boots had waxed laces. I 'Googled how to wax your laces', staying away from the obviously 'personal' and 'private' resultant listings resulting from the 'waxing' reference. Unfortunately, all that was left was some Canadian dude talking about waxing his hockey boot laces or something; but I got the gist. I used a big block of bees' wax I had and just ran the laces through that several times. Waxed laces tend to stay tied better; plus they look 'neater'.
These boots look entirely different and I must say more expensive than they did just the other day when I got them. It just goes to show what a bit of polish and elbow grease can do...

Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Thanked: 485Just thought I'd post a 'pre Carl' photo of the boots...

Thanked: 983Did anybody care to check out my pirate boots up above^ there? Aw c'mon fella's! I made them too! Well I made a pair of Johnny Reb's look like Pirate Boots by adding an 'over boot' sleeve with a turn down at the top. Nobody cared to notice?!...I think I might go sulk...Or at least get off the damn computer and have a cup of tea anyway .
