Thanked: 203Looking good Stu.
Maybe with the cut out you could leave the heel of the blade intact and go for a pierced cut out. Still have the look and lightness but maintain rigidity. {?}
Thanks for making me hurry along to keep up.

Adam.

Thanks Adam. The thought had crossed my mind, about a pierced cut-out. It might be the way to go.
Happy to keep you moving along with your blades mate, need to keep an Aussie presence here among the custom makers. Although I have a way to go yet to get to the quality of the custom makers here. Something to aim for eh?

I am a bit worried about the cut-out. I wonder what it will do during HT.
And the curly tail is a bit short. Depending on how you hold the razor and how thick your fingers are, it might be a tad uncomfortable.
Nice lines though.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Um... Anyone can do that.
Seriously.
You may have a couple of false starts, and making a new blade is probably not the best idea for a first project. It may be a better idea to restore a couple of razors by hand first, to learn the ropes. But doing something like this is just a matter of getting started.
Everyone will make mistakes along the way.
When I first wanted to restore a razor or make one from scratch, I didn't know anything more than you do.
Just buy an old blade, take it apart, and start sanding, cleaning, and shaping.Last edited by Bruno; 10-10-2011 at 04:00 PM.
