A couple of progress pics
As promised Jimbo.
Here is a couple of progress pics (first one is jus the piece or steel as it arrived) of the two custom blades I am working on.
I have also included a pic of my next blade project..........maybe
Both need some jimps and heat treat.
Any ideas or feedback would be appreciated
Stu
Edit: I tried to be a bit sneaky and post this one in the Down Under section, to limit too much exposure. Understandably the post has now been moved to here . Anyway, thanks for looking.Last edited by Str8Raz0r; 10-08-2011 at 03:15 AM.

I'm with Maxi,
the pigtail rocks ... looks like the beginnings of a real piece of art!

I am jealous of those who can find the time and have the ability to create functional art from steel. Gorgeous.

Thanked: 170Love the pigtail! I'll be interested to see how the "cut out" in the blade works, if you make it. The area of the blade below the cutout could flex when you hone it - or not. An interesting artistic experiment, however it turns out. Keep us informed!

Thanked: 170Hey, it's got to be worth a try. If it works, you will be hailed as the next great thing. If it doesn't, well, I promise not to say I told you so. All you have to lose is about $4 US of steel and time. It would probably be more likely to work as a 1/4 hollow - maybe with an 8inch wheel? If you don't try it, maybe I will. It sure would look cool!
