I still PIF a lot of stuff regularly, I'm now much more selective to whom though. I've been burned in several ways, PIFed items that end up being sold, offered complimentary honing and received wedges with active rust and extensive damage, no considerations for return shipping etc. I have, however, had the pleasure of meeting people who are as generous and considerate as I.

Boy have you got nerve bill3152....sharpening a razor like that. Don't you know someone could hurt themselves with that? I can't imagine what got into your head. I'll bet you're the type that would serve up a hot cup of coffee too.

Over last weekend I had the opportunity to tell my sons, age 22 and 26, both of whom were showing razor burn on their neck....both use electrics.

I suggested they start with DE, although I didn't have an extra to give them, and they are both "rushers", so although I demonstrated the SR shave, I didn't loan either one my spare gear. In fact, the younger of the two is an officer in the US Coast Guard, and is at sea 70% of the time on a 210' Cutter, which is not a stable platform on which to learn to use a SR, but DE, used correctly would solve his problem and his brother's. I did suggest that they adopt use of real soaps, brushes and mugs to prep their beards. We'll see how it went on the next visit.

I PIF all the time, but am selective as to who. So far I have met some great friends who would return the favor in a heart beat. I usually need to meet you in person for me to feel comfortable to PIF, but I think most of us here PIF almost everyday helping beginners in their efforts starting in this hobby.

Surely a bit of pitching and rolling adds to the challenge for those "salty" types

I just recived a care package from Rick Boone, that he PIF'd to me. It was much appreciated and will get many years of great use. Thank you so much.

I've done a few PIF's, mostly shaving soaps to new members on a budget. I tend to prefer creams and had a backlog of soaps I wasn't going to use so I figure might as well help a newbie out otherwise I would still have those soaps collecting dust. I did get emails from those members thanking me, so that was good enough for me. Funny thing though, I have not seen those members active on SRP in a long time. Hope they stuck with wet shaving.

I to have PIF a few razors, a strop or three soaps creams and brushes.
only two of a dozen or so still stay in touch.
When I have it to give I do but that is my nature,
the only thing I ask of those I help is PIF when you can however you can.
I do not feel like I have lost out on the deals but I do miss a few of them blades.....
