Arrow Why does people think of us as a "weirdos" ?!

    Hello
After I have done my first shave with DE (and a very nice one, even that it isn't as close as I might find)
I really had no problems, went very smooth and nice (even with a very "old" tools)
But I have noticed that many people (even my dad, brother and so on) think of using a DE or a Str8 razor as being very "weird"

I have told my friend that I have done a shave with a new thing today
    What did he ask me?
If it was a Mach-5 (fusuion)
So how does it come to this that only few people these days really appreciate a real good manly shave?
Why every one do what the commercials tell them? even when it cost them more, and give a less shave?

For the most part "unusual" == "wierd", so yeah, DEs and straights are pretty wierd. Fortunately, my family has long since gotten used to me being wierd.

Yeah, allways they look at you like you are "cray" and probably cut yourself all day long, I don't get it

You know, you're answering your own question. People think we're odd becuse they do like everyone else does ... exactly what the advertising tells them.

I'm not bothered by them. I look them stright in the eye and tell them they don't know what they're talking about, whereas I am in a position to know having been on both sides of the fence. Kind of hard for them to argue with that. Sure I show up with the odd nick and that's when they tend to talk about it more, but those cuts have been fewer and fewer.

Here's a thought; the next time you see a family member with a five o'clock shadow ask them why their shaves aren't close enough. "Aren't you disapointed with a substandard shave?"

And then, in the same breath, tell them that there's about 200 other guys, and we all get on the internet and spend about 12 hours a day talking about shaving!!!

    ...weirdo suddenly turns into certifiable!

(...sick, I tell you....we're all sick!!...)

Oh get off it X ,the fact is you are wierd and so are the rest of us. If a woman told you she enjoys taking her laundry outside and boiling it in a big kettle and then beat it with a big stick and then wrang it out with her hands and put it on the line to dry you would call her wierd and its no different than us. yea we can say were "green" and its enjoyable and we get a better shave and its cheaper ,but really now. There are people who live without electricity and they think thats keen and people who still ride horses and won't own cars and many other eccentric things but in the end we are all different whether you call that wierd or not its left up to the majority to put a label on that type of behavior. I don't know about you guys but personally I'm proud to be a wierdo. Hows that?

They are called sheeple and have no idea that they can think for themselves. Everybody dances in beat with the bass drum. If you look around sometimes you will see a person who hears the snare instead, they are just a little out of step with the rest.

If you look back at a lot of old tools they work very well, but they were expensive to make, Sound familier? Sure you can go buy a new cheaper razor, but it is not better, just cheaper. It does work just not as good, but "they" will convince you otherwise.

The only thing I want to do with a Mach anything is in relation to the speed of sound. Such as I'am flying at mach.92 or mach 2.5

Now be careful with that razor you'll shoot your eye out!!
