Rob if the cost isn't an issue an you can do the products on consignment then by all means go for it. Start small an build the reputation for a cool local establishment that gives a great shave experience. I agree the tutorial classes for all experience levels is a great ideal. I am in southwest OH an come through Etown a couple times a year. Would be cool to know there was a place to stop in an get gear an hang out. Good luck an keep us posted.

Try to be realistic and understand that your environment and market will differ greatly from what you find on this forum. If I started a "shave club" in my town of 20,000 people, it would have one member.

The classes on beard prep and shaving technique are where the real need is. Most of the new guys who come to me for help are really lacking in that area. A class is also a great way to introduce various products!
Keep the class size small and realize that a bit of your customers ego is at stake.

What about a straight razor how to clinic and sell some straights. You could do honing clinics too and set up a honing service.

    +1 for the beginners kit

I would like to a see a store with a wide selection of soaps/pastes in varying scents. Brushes in different materials, sizes, and handle styles. Strops in different materials and different treatments. Aftershaves. And of course lots of new razors. Maybe some hones. Maybe some colognes.

The "lots of new razors" might be a bit expensive. How about a few new razors and some razor catalogs to browse through and order the razor through you?

If it doesn't work, at least you know of a forum with some crazy razor people on it that would probably buy the unsold products.

I would recommend having copies of Lynn's DVD for purchase.

That is a very good idea.

They can buy the DVD or sit and watch the DVD in John's "Area of Relaxation" and then buy some product(s) or come to a class with a bit of knowledge.
