I can see it....the Hot Towel Girl! She comes out with steaming towels, hot pants and high heels. She smiles, and smacks one on your face! Oh yeah!

Thanked: 20Cost for start up is always an issue. Maybe start slow by offering sample products (soaps) and a small supply of brushes, and razors(display only). Then talk to vendors from here about building some catalogs of their products(razors, soaps, brushes, misc.) for customers to look at. I think the secret to making it successful lies in making feel both old and modern. I also think if I had to spend money, I would try advertising. I personally would advertise in what I could afford in a 150 mile radius, and target it to younger people. The consignment idea sounds great, but it might be hard to get people to trust you. If it starts to work, you might also want to add other Barbers to the mix at your place. I know it will sound cliche, but adding a female barber to the mix will really make a big difference to the business. If she is willing to learn about razors, I am positive it will help business.

I'm quite sure that this shop owner will hold to the same High Standards for his Business that are expected here at SRP.
Mother's often take their young sons in for a haircut. I'm sure that mom would be more likely to return her business if the atmosphere was more about shaving and hair cutting oriented rather than 'sexist'.
Perhaps this Old Redneck Country Boy is a bit Old FashionedOur house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.

Now Cuda,,,,,,don't you go ruining our Dream Barber Shop, we will probably never get to visit it, but it's nice to know that somewhere there might be a barber shop with all these amenities (had to look that word up) ,,,even if it's just a dream,,,,,,,,,

hehehe 'We' can 'Dream' all we want, but I do believe that 'He' truly wants to have the Shave Shop that he's 'Dreaming' of.
While I'm sure that he's been amused with some of the ideas I believe that he really wants input on what gentlemen would be interested in when they came into his shop as far as learning not only about DE but the age old art of using and maintaining a straight razor and the product that it takes along with instructions on how to use all and how to go about doing so.Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.

Alright Cuda,,,alright,,,
,,,,,so I guess a Cat Walk running the length of the barber chairs, with shave models demonstrating lathering techniques, would be out of the question,,,,
