Thread: Razor Herd...

Ok some of you guys are just down right greedy.
My small wannabe herd is only 3 razors.
J.A. Henckels #451 5/8 stainless round-point (going to make new scales to get rid of plastic, this was my very first razor 12$ on Ebay)
Bengall 5/8 spike-point (donated to me by Garythepenman currently in process of polishing and repinning scales, was shaving great until the butt pin broke)
Wade&Butcher 6/8 1/4 hollow notch-point w/3pin Cocobollo scales (bought from Joe Chandler last christmas)
I had a 7/8 W&B Celebrated Hollow Ground Notch Point that unfortunately got a teeny tiny crack in the blade during a freak hand sanding accident.
I am trying to get 3 or 4 project razors so I can have a real rotation someday, but I can not afford some of the crazy inflated prices on Ebay for razors I like.
I am looking for 6/8 and larger sheffield razors that need work. If anyone has any W&B, Bengall, Fredrick Renolds, George Westenholm & Sons razors, or others like them in the 20$ - 30$ range please PM me. I have all the materials to start restoring razors except the blades themselves.

Thanked: 0I'm a newbie...
I have almost two straights.
The one I have at hand is an "Original Rifle Razor" with a rifle engraved on the blade. I bought it at a local flea market for $20 -- which I've learned here is probably a bit too much, given the condition. The edge is in good shape but the blade has a bit of pitting and one of the scales has the tip broken off.
So after reading this forum for a while I ordered one of those Polish NOS razors on ebay. It hasn't arrived yet, which is why I said "almost two." I figured I'll practice shaving with the Polish razor, and eventually restore the Rifle Razor.

I just have one now, but I ordered two of those Polish razors on ebay, just for honing practice, of course!

13 I think, although I only shave with about half of those and only half again are really good shavers.

Thanked: 0One in a box somewhere after moving here from college
Two out getting work done
Two here getting work done
One en route from Holland
Total, Six
Still looking at a seven day set, making it 13, and a trade for a custom pen, making it 14, but might only make it 7 if I don't get this set.
Ahh, the joys of RAD one is trying to suppress.

Somewhere between 30 & 40; most are shave ready (now). This after selling off nearly a dozen in the past few months.

A grand total of 2 right now, but what a two! Dovo 5/8, TI 4/8. One more on the way just as soon as Gary has done a customised scales job for me.

I've got five shave ready, two that need honing, one that needs cleaning and honing, three that need restoration beyond my current abilities, and one that may be beyond hope of restoration and may need a complete rebuild. Total 11. Really more than I need but 7 were gifted to me six of those my wifes grand and great grandfathers. Heck of the four I paid for three were a E-bay lot for $15 that I got just to learn how to keep my other one in top condition (now one of these is my best shaver, ugly, but cuts well).
