8 in rotation
1 junk
Man 1: Hey, look you've got a bunch of razors!
Man 2: It's not a bunch of razors, heard of razors.
Man 1: Cause I heard of razors, you think I'm stupid?
Man 2: No! A razor heard!
Man 1: I don't care if a razor heard, I got nothing to hide!!

Nice one.
I've got 3 in rotation and a few more that are for sale most of the time. My rotation will be around three for the rest of my life I think. Unless I get something REALLy nice to add to it (I'll never mind an extra TI)

This thread could use some "whole collection" pictures.

4 in rotation
1 that needs honing (rescaled in the future)
5 to restore / rescale (1 work in progress)
1 to sell (5/8 Wapienica).
1 for experimenting (5/8 dud Gertrucico).
My mother is making me a rotation box for 7 razors. My plan is to fill that with my current rotation and projects, and then get a second 7 day box that I can slowly fill up if I find something nice.
I enjoy working on project razors, but I think I might have trouble letting them go at the end. I'll have to be carefull not to keep razors I don't need.
The only things I already know I'd like to add are a curved Joseph Rodgers 6/8 or 7/8, and a curved 6/8 or 7/8 Robert Williams, both half hollow or stiffer.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
To spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the Last Day

the dark secrets creep out at last
When i decided to end my beard wearing days last fall i owned 10 straight razors. four of them i had owned as long as i have been needing to shave, 6 of them were my father's and grand fathers personal razors that they had given me before they died. All of them had been gifts form either my father or grandfather at some point. i also had 4 barber hones, 3 boar brushes, 2 pure badger, 2 silvertip brushes and by then 3 ruined strops.
Then i started shaivng again... found this place and the RAD started.
127 razors, in my home, 4 more in transit (and they are beauties )
14 that are, in theory, in the rotation, but i'm really hooked on 5 fo them.
37 that are shave ready and can be grabbed when i want something different.
15 that need a to be honed butthe blades and scales are in good shape
8 NOS that have never seen a hone
33 that need restoration and/ or cleaning of the blades and scales
14 that need new scales
and 6 that the blades are beyond hope, cracks and huge nicks
i think i shall hold Lynn responsible for the herd.Last edited by syslight; 04-13-2007 at 11:05 PM.

I have four straights. They are all in rotation. First bought was a Double Duck Dwarf from a barber supply in 1977. Later added a Swedish Heljestand 4/8" around '83 from Stoddard's of Boston. Then an E Bay Henckels 5/8". Last a 4/8" Electric that I won on another forum. I gave the Imperial that I won on this forum to a police officer that I work with at night who is interested (I've got him using a mug, brush and an old Gillette DE, but he's only partially used the straight 2x now). I also enjoy using my Merkur HD Slantbar, Gillette Super Speed, 2 Techs, and Gem Micromatic & Ever Ready, and Schick "J" injector. If Spring ever comes to N. Indiana, I plan on cutting down the beard to goatee size again and really get back to using the straights a lot more often!

17, including all the ones that need repairs and such. I've been meaning to get rid of some of them.

What I want to know is do any of you have any trouble with your herds stampeding and what you do to keep them under control?
