Good one Donald! Welcome to the club (soon there'll be enough of us to form a splinter group, and after that we'll be running this joint Mwuhahahaha! )A bit of practice and the time should come down. I can do mine in about 10-15 minutes nowadays.

Ditto mate! I think keeping the camera strictly head-shot only is the way to go.

I've been anxious to try this since I ordered my first straight the other day but maybe I'll need to put it off until I buy my second. The one on the way is only a 4/8. Guess I'll be sticking with the fusion and/or headblade for now. I've been wanting to try the triple blade adaptor for the headblade anyway.

You can use a smaller blade - I've done it with a 4/8 Dovo (my first razor too) - it just feels a little "light" going through the thicker parts of the hair (for me the sides and back - curse male pattern baldness ). On the other hand, a smaller blade is a bit easier to manouvre around the tricky ear area.

Give it a go - if it gets too tough you can still use the headblade to finish up.

I could go for some male pattern baldness. It would make the head shaving alot easier. My hair on top gets really thick especially if I don't shave for a couple days.

Yeah, shaving the head almost as regularly as the face is definitely the go. I can send you some of my baldness genes, if you send me some of your hirsute genes!

Seriously, in a lot of ways shaving your head is easier than shaving your face with a straight. The skin's already a bit more taut, and there's generally no sharp direction changes (like the jawline) on your head. And shaving where you can't see is not that bad - you can feel what's going on.

Actually, I've been wanting to make a video of a head shave for a while now, but my wife refuses to hold the camera for me.... maybe I can rig something up. Tell you what Rich, I'll do a head shave video if you do a commando video!

    James.
If you could make a small tutorial video, that would be great. I am hoping to use a straight myself for this once I get the hang of it.

I second that. I'd love to see a video of a straight razor head shave. I'd never do it myself (I look like a frigin shaolin monk if I shave my head *gong sounds*).

I never stopped to think about it until Jimbo mentioned it, but the head really is made up of flat plains (or at least mine is...to many knocks to the noggin I guess)
