Well, I decided to spend the day having a play with the cheap razor. I used a blow torch to get it red hot and dunked it in cold water (This process warped the blade to hell) I then pulled out the old 400 grit knife hone and reshaped the square edge to a nice rounded point and started the bevel work (mostly getting it to a good level finish with out warping due to the above process) Once I was happy I set the bevel using the 1k then the usual norton combo and 12k finisher then stropped on a pasted strop and just for gigles I had a shave and then stroped and to my suprise the edge held up. I would normal see micro chips after just one shave so this is good news for me and I am very impressed.

The shave itself was fairly comfortable (this razor is a different size from blade to shoulder and was throwing me) with a little practice may even be as good as a dovo.

Nice days work there. I just need to polish the blade back up as it lost its shine in the heat and dunk process lol

I'm really surprised it made it without cracking or even shattering during the dunking in water process....glad you were happy with the results.

I was told to heat and dunk in stages each stage hotter than the last but as this was a cheap piece of crap I just got it hot and dunked

Shaved with the razor a few more times and it works well. I just don't like the weight and balance of it so it is just my reserve now
