Thanked: 0Well, I decided to spend the day having a play with the cheap razor. I used a blow torch to get it red hot and dunked it in cold water (This process warped the blade to hell) I then pulled out the old 400 grit knife hone and reshaped the square edge to a nice rounded point and started the bevel work (mostly getting it to a good level finish with out warping due to the above process) Once I was happy I set the bevel using the 1k then the usual norton combo and 12k finisher then stropped on a pasted strop and just for gigles I had a shave and then stroped and to my suprise the edge held up. I would normal see micro chips after just one shave so this is good news for me and I am very impressed.
The shave itself was fairly comfortable (this razor is a different size from blade to shoulder and was throwing me) with a little practice may even be as good as a dovo.
Nice days work there. I just need to polish the blade back up as it lost its shine in the heat and dunk process lol

Thanked: 0Shaved with the razor a few more times and it works well. I just don't like the weight and balance of it so it is just my reserve now
