I think it is just their post office has things slip from time to time. We're *possibly* rare cases, with a shipment resting on a shelf for a few days. I used to live by the country's worst post office in Illinois and they would frequently lose packages for a few days or forever, argue with you over they shipping price they gave you that were wrong or under weird conditions that made the postage 10x-100x higher than regular postage. FME, every other package has arrived much faster and updated along the way with post office excluding those 2.

The nice thing about tracking is that if it never arrives you have evidence that they provide. If it's their fault and not a swiped package.

This is true. I've decided to not worry about it. I may revisit my concern if it doesn't show up by this Wednesday. On another note, while I have not tried Meissner Tremonia's creams I do have a puck of their Indian Flavour soap and am really enjoying it. It took me a little while to dial in the lather but I like the scent a lot. While in the container all the elements combine into a somewhat medicinal scent, which is really not what I was expecting and I wasn't too crazy about it. Once I started lathering, however, they mellowed out to a clean, naturally spicy scent which was much more appealing. The lemongrass stays with me for a while after the shave, which is fine by me. My mom always grew lemongrass and would keep a bunch of it in a pitcher of ice water in the fridge in summer. Good memories associated with that smell.

If you knew me personally, you would know I am way to cheap to do that. I agonize over every purchase over 20 bucks.... "if a fist could turn dollars into diamonds, you'd be rich" is a direct quote from my father, a CFO that works to turn failing companies around...

Back to my thread, I used the Jermyn street cream today. Still undecided about this scent. It is very stereotypical of a "modern" cologne to me. It has a nightish scent, think a flower grove at night with a bonfire a quarter mile away. I went with this flavor since I was going out and wanted more fragrance. It combines well with my AoS sandalwood balm, better than expected. My shumate's edge seemed a little harsher than previously. I am going to continue to lap my vermio hone, already through 2 sheets of 400 grit and not quite there. More mirrored finish than unboxing, tomorrow's goal is to bring it to 2000 grit w/d paper. Then throw my razors finished on 12k superstones on there. Wish me luck...

Lol I DID spring for 2 day priority 10Pups. That's why I'm so unthrilled about it taking 6 days. Fortunately it arrived in Detroit and was sorted and out for delivery in less than an hour this morning.
Do you use creams exclusively Dinnermint? I've heard good things about ToBS and have been kicking around the idea of trying to pick up some samples for a while.

I have mainly used creams. All of my samples are creams. I find that I spend a little more time in the scuttle and I don't face lather, all that adds up to an extra step with hard soaps that bothers me a little. Unless I am travelling carry-on, I have a puck for that. More room in the quart bag for ecig stuff. I am a big fan of samples. Costs more per oz per cream, but the variety is nice and add to the fact I can get at least 5 shaves per sample.

Welp, yesterday's shave was alright. Kinda terrible. I have this borderline OCD in trying to get the really difficult hairs to at least be even with the rest of my face, or at least match side-to-side. So, I have also been toying with my technique for stropping. I feel that I am progressing to a lighter pressure with the blade and harder of a pull on the strop. Almost attempting to get a finishing-hone set-up with a hanging strop. I noticed that this has resulted in limited contact on the heel with the strop. Muscle memory for me is kinda difficult to come by, so all my techniques for everything waxes and wains. A meet-up with a more experienced party would probably be prudent... Though self doubt is pretty common for me anyways.

Back to my task at hand. I used the EJ Sandalwood for the shave. Shaving quality was pretty good, but the scent just seemed alright. I want to at least get 2-3 shaves per sample to maybe let my nostrils acclimate to the smells, but I think I'm just getting pickier...

@Smattayu: did you ever get those samples?

I'm working up a sample list of things that I most want to try. That includes soaps, creams, aftershaves, and a couple of colognes. I figured I might as well get as comprehensive as I can before I put in the order, as they will keep me busy for a while. It's pretty much finished so I'll be hitting up Maggard's tomorrow.
One of the few creams I've tried is EJ pomegranate and lime. I enjoyed the scent but wasn't too impressed with the lather. I have a St. James of London sampler, but have only used the pre and after shaves from it. The scent of cedarwood and clarysage is amazing, so I may be trying that cream soon.

OK, order sent. AS samples from Fine, Chiseled Face, Geo F. Trumper, and Captains Choice. Shaving cream samples from Geo F. Trumper, ToBS and Castle Forbes. Threw in a puck of B&M Latha Oceana since I love that line(pretty sure I'll like the scent but if not...PIF ) and a puck of Haslinger just to see what the fuss is about. Maggard's synthetic brush rounded it out nicely. I love my Semogue but the price was right. I should have an exciting Thursday. Possibly Wednesday if their past service is anything to go by.
